rene lacoste won a bet with the someone :? that he would win some match :? and got a briefcase made with alligator skin as a gift. hence the nickname alligator.

Yep!!! The bet was with the French Davis Cup Captain.

Q:When he was 12 he knew Finnish,Greek,Latin and English. His favourite pastime was inventing new languages. He was a bad student at school and later a bad teacher at college where he taught Anglo-Saxon. Who?
