Satyavan....the Husband of Savitri who challenges Yama????

you had 'the answer' in ur statement, but the answer u gave me is wrong.
Err...Yama??? Or did i goofup on Satyavan being the Husband of Savitri?? Or is the ans 'Husband of Savitri'?

Yama is the right answer.

Shiva kills yamaa and then makes him the person responsible to kill others.

The Yamas are codified as "the restraints" in numerous scriptures including the Shandilya and Varuha Upanishads, Hatha Yoga Pradipika by Gorakshanatha, the Tirumantiram of Tirumular and the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali. They comprise the "shall-nots" in our dealings with the external world.

The ten traditional yamas are:

Ahimsa

Satya

Asteya

Brahmacharya

Kshama

Dhriti

Daya

Arjava

Mitahara

Shaucha
