why are bollywood movies so damn long? i've seen a few before, but saw my first in the cinema last night, 'Veer Zara', entertaining but it made lord of the rings trilogy look concise. Wanted to go to Mughal E Azam but couldn't get tickets :(

maybe next time.

so on the length thing, i have no problem with some once off, special, diferent, ground-breaking film being over 3 hours long, but a standard romance number with SRK and Preity (see i'm learning the lingo) would be nice if they could keep it under 2 hours. nice songs though. and cool costumes.

 thanks guys. like i said, we only saw it cos we were too late to get tickets for MughaleAzam and it was the only other thing on in the place. We drove from Prasad (full) to a place in Ameerpet (Telegu) to a place in Abids where we finally got tickets to something at least. i have to say the film was really well produced, and Shah Rukh Khan wasn't that bad (except for playing the same character he always seems to play) and all in all i enjoyed it. also it was easy enough to guess what was going on, important if ya only have 10 words of hindi like myself. (nobody said muja buk lagi hai, or aap ka name kya hai, so i didn't stand a chance really. are there any films where these two sentences are used a lot? :P

How could I have forgotten Karan Johar (looking more and more like a gay bastard everyday)? I do admire KKHH for its stunning production.

Haan, Swades is s'posed to be diff, but bata nahi sakte yaar. Altho Pardes is very very nice, even tho it has SRK in it.

ok...so had yr first experience of driving in Hyderabad traffic! ameerpet and abids are the best test tracks!!!

good there was someone to translate the dialogs if required...i was wondering how u managed alone!

u definitely watch Mughal-e-Azam...its a timeless epic, sorta like Ben-Hur or 10 Commandments is for Hollywood. dont miss it.

....i have an idea...how abt an FHDB movie trip....many of us can watch some Bolly film together...like MeA or forthcoming flicks like Musafir or Swades.

disclaimer2: Swades is NOT to be refferred to as an SRK film. its an Ashutosh Gowarikar film with AR Rahman's music...if SRK has done something different, we can call it an SRK flick too...

 Mebbe SRK will shock his fans by actually acting.

The movie meet idea is brilliant. Instead of watching a good movie with one or two friends, we can all take our near and dear ones, and watch a good movie together with FHDibians.
