My dad's in India.He just want to move to NZ just for a PR for 2 yrs and then hes gonna be back but those 2 yrs are gonna be irritating.

Whats the point in getting a PR?

there is a lot to PR... its like green card in the states, or even better.... ii Guess!

dude, unlike in the states, u get unemployment benifits in NZ, u get paid everyweek for doing nothign almost for the rest of ur life

Well again, whats the point in leaving a presumably good job in India to hang out in NZ as an unemployed lazy person just to get benefits from the government? Its rather shameful if people do that.

So what if they wear bikinis? India has a very high AIDS count, whether they wear sarees or walk around in thongs. People don't get AIDS by wearing bikinis.

i feel 'torn' whenever i move away from hyderabad... i have lived most of my life here. even if i have to move away in future, i'll make sure i come back here in old age

Everybody keeps talking about "coming back to India", but how many really do it? Unless there is a death in the family (even then they have excuses to stay back in the US) or their H1 gets over after 6 years and they become bakras because their company has backed out, they won't return..

i think Lonewolf's right. all NRIs talk of coming back "some" day...but most of them usually dont come back unless its a short visit on holiday or for one of the reasons he mentioned. they usually get into the "settle again in India" mode aftre watching a Yash Chopra/Karan Johar flick or when the talk to some Indian citizens.



right now the ones who are coming back in droves are the IT guys who are finding better jobs in India than in the US...

How come u always see people (in Hyd) barely wearing clothes? You come to Hyd once and see, you will find people do wear clothes here. I think you look for people only at wrong places.

More over it is not an invitation to AIDS. But there is a time and a place for everything. Go wearing anything too modern and you will get stoned & spat at (that cld also happen if u r with Arti & pals - diff subject ). Plus all the filthy comments. When will Hyd be more accepting?

One of my friends works in an Arab-American company in DC and I visited him once. I expected to see burkha clad people, but it was way too different. My friend told me that earlier in the year, those middle-east chicks were literally wearing bikinis, and the President was so pissed that one day she held a general meeting and told them that just because they are not in the middle-east doesn't mean they can wear clothes that look like bikinis in the US
