THis is my first topic that I'm posting. I just wanted to know what everyone else thinks.
I spoke to a really close friend of mine today who I had not spoke to in a very long time. We were talking and came upon a small topic. Past and Present.
Do you think that our past is our future? That the past repeats itself (a.k.a 'history repeats itself') Or do you think that, what was once there, can not come back?
When I was talking to my friend, I told her we should do some things we use to do back when we use to see each other a lot. She said that it is different and that, the past cannot be the same in any way as the future.
What do you think?
Also, do you prefer the past, present, or are you waiting for the future anxiously and why?

You two are obviously older and therefore carry more responsibilities on your shoulders. Its not like your carefree days gone by where you could simply skip on over to her house to play and goof off. As you two have grown, theres a lot of water under the bridge. Situations are different so each one had to play their role with caution and care. The way you are now, the way you think and act will not be the same ten years from now. Well, even 3-5 years from now. Even tomorrow you might have to change for some reason.oneminutecooler wrote:When I was talking to my friend, I told her we should do some things we use to do back when we use to see each other a lot. OMC, the past always looms over the future, the past cant be erased and shouldnt be erased because we learn from it. And after us, our children can learn from it and then their children can learn from it.
"You can never go back home" is my favorite saying, which means that we can never go back to that comfy time in our lives where everything was good and we had no worries, no trouble, no stress......NOTHING. That was home, because it was our comfort zone, and we can never go back there again. But we can mould our future around that time and form a new comfort zone.

the problems usually crop up when our partner does not change as per our expectations. we shud stop trying to mould other adults into what what we want....other than a few external characteristics, we cant change an adult's nature.oneminutecooler wrote:I do not think they "always" change. Everyone changes. You just do not realize it when you do. And the change does not always have to be a bad one. Just because someone changes does not mean that you can not "hold on to them" in some way. If you really care about the "person you care for" then a change should not matter so much, unless it is a bad, drastic change.SimarikSmokin wrote:people u care for always change u can't hold on to them forever
