Agarwood/Oudh

by ALOESWOOD » Tue Nov 16, 2004 12:07 am

I have genuine Agarwood chips, powder, chunks and pure oil for sale from southern China. I produce 10 grades of top quality oil and I have various grades of woodchips. My top grade oils are very very dark and are virtually solid at room temperature. This is the first time I am selling my Agarwood outside of China on the international market. I am a Canadian Anthropologist living in China and I guarantee that my Agarwood is genuine. I have bought Agarwood samples from many companies and retailers from around the world as an Agarwood connoisseur only to discover that many many companies adulterate their Agarwood or mix the woodchips with some other wood!

I am dedicated to Agarwood and only wish to sell genuine and pure wood. Samples may be pruchased to test my Agarwood before making a larger purchase. I am able to guarantee my Agarwood because I am the producer...you are getting Agarwood right from the original source. I oversee everything in my company including the traditional steam distillation of pure Agarwood oil. Many people have never tried Agarwood from southern China and all I can say is that...all connoisseurs of Agarwood will want to try the unique and complex aroma grown in this region. If you have further inquiries, please e-mail me: finiti999@hotmail.com ~Thank-you~

Press Sense - 18/ 11 : 'All Are Equal Before Law' ... 'Most

Press Sense - 18 / 11 : `All Are Equal Before Law'

* 'All Are Equal Before Law'

Many commend the Government on the ground that through the arrest of Sri Jayendra Saraswathi, it has asserted that all are equal and none is big or small before the law. Some question the propriety involved in the arrest of an influential religious head. The Government has not resorted to this action expecting bouquets for arresting the Sankaracharya or fearing brickbats for not arresting him. The Government headed by me has taken the action under the principle that all are equal before the law.
- Ms Jayalalithaa, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister in the State Assembly, 17 Nov 2004, Chennai.

** 'Most Corrupt Investigation'
# I have not seen a "corrupt investigation" as the one in the case relating to the murder of Sankararaman, manager of the Sri Varadarajaperumal temple, in my 60 years experience at the Bar.
# The order remanding the Sankaracharya was totally void.
# No parade was held to identify the accused, the grounds of arrest were not furnished to the Acharya when he was arrested and his lawyer could not exercise his right of consultation with the Acharya before his remand.
# Further, the judicial magistrate sat outside court hours and remanded the accused.
# The petitioner had no account with ICICI bank, from where it was alleged that huge amounts was withdrawn to pay the killer gang, nor was any money withdrawn, nor was it distributed to the killers.
- Senior Counsel Ram Jethmalani in the Madras High Court on 17 Nov 2004, Chennai.

Press Sense - 19 / 11 : Microsoft's Gates Is World's Most 'Spammed' Person

Image

SINGAPORE (Reuters) - E-mail users inundated with unsolicited "spam" messages have reason to hope Microsoft Corp. will develop better tools for tackling the problem: Bill Gates is suffering more than anyone.

Gates, Microsoft's chairman, gets 4 million e-mails a day and is probably the most "spammed" person in the world, his Chief Executive Officer Steve Ballmer said Thursday.

However, only a few junk e-mails gets through to Gates's inbox thanks to anti-spam technology that filters his messages, Ballmer said at a Microsoft event in Singapore.

Spam e-mails touting everything from aphrodisiacs to home loans are believed to account for over 80 percent of Internet traffic.

Press Sense - 20 / 11 : Acharya's Arrest: Congress Questions Jayalalithaa

Acharya's Arrest: Congress Questions Jayalalithaa
New Delhi, Nov. 20. (PTI): The Congress has sought to question Chief Minister Jayalalithaa for the manner in which the Tamil Nadu police arrested the Kanchi Sankaracharya Jayendra Saraswathi in connection with a murder case.

"I would like to know from Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa why Diwali day was chosen to arrest the Sankaracharya. Why he could not be put under house arrest in a guest house?",Congress General Secretary Digivijay Singh told reporters here last night.

He also asked "should not his (the seer's) statement have been taken before his arrest"?

Press Sense - 21 / 11 : A Protest Rally By Kids For Kids

A Protest Rally By Kids For Kids

HYDERABAD, NOV.20. About 300 children of Aashirwad, an institution for underprivileged children run by CHORD, took out a rally against child labour in Kukatpally Housing Board Colony here on Saturday to mark the International Child Rights Day.

CHORD, a relief and development organisation working for eradication of child labour, in a release deplored that the city and its surroundings employed more than two lakh children in various trades.

The rally was aimed at sensitising all stakeholders of society on the issue of child labour and proclaiming the basic child rights given to all the children by the UNO convention.

CHORD is running Residential Schools and Vocational Training Centres for 350 children in Ranga Reddy district and got hundreds of child labourers admitted into the Government and recognised schools in the last few years, a release said.

Press Sense - 22 / 11 : Be Happy, and Put Retirement Fears to Rest

Image

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - If retirement fears were color-coded, they would be somewhere between orange and red right now.
... the investment industry has churned out a zillion studies, each saying that People are woefully unprepared or uninformed about how much money they will really need.
They've also launched a highly visible public relations campaign designed to make the People worry if they have enough money.

# But the study I like best is the new one, which found that recent retirees are "a money-worried, cash-strapped group, dependent ... " -- but they're happy! ... Some 84 percent of the recent retirees surveyed said they were satisfied with their retirement lifestyle, despite financial worries. As the Survey sensibly concludes,[i] "there's more to happiness than money."

# And there's more to retirement planning than saving the millions that the mutual fund companies tell you that you'll need. Happiness in retirement has been correlated to having a healthy, active lifestyle, younger friends, family and faith connections, and interesting hobbies.
That doesn't mean you won't need money to retire well, or that you shouldn't save as much as you can. You should, and there are many tax-favored ways to do that. But it's not something to stay up nights worrying about.

# Here are some points of reassurance that all those studies sometimes miss:
-- So you'll worry about money. Who doesn't? People, whether working or not, worry about buying their next car and paying for college and killing the Bills. They almost always muddle through. There are whole other columns to write about money worries and how to get over them, but worrying about money isn't synonymous with not having enough.
-- Expenses will vary during your long retirement life, but on average they won't be as high as they are when you are working. That first year is a bear: You're still spending most of the money you were while working, but you're also traveling more, eating in restaurants more, fixing up the house more, taking care of those little medical things you didn't have time for before, buying a new leisure wardrobe, perhaps joining a gym and spending more time shopping. No wonder retirement is so expensive!
That doesn't last forever. In later retirement, you'll spend less on clothes, travel and other items, and you'll stop buying cars. The early retirement years overstate long-term retirement income needs.
-- If you have to tighten your belt later, it's not the end of the world or the ruination of your retirement. Retirees who put themselves on lower budgets still enjoy activities and friends, family visits and free time. They just remain budget-conscious. Or they work a little longer or part-time. You can save money by spending less without going straight to a sit-in-the-dark-and-eat-pet food scenario.
-- You'll be able to count on your house. Most of the studies ignore home equity, which many owners have piled up big time in the last few years. Many retirees eventually leave their bigger, more expensive homes for cheaper ones that are easier to maintain or are in warmer climates or lower tax zones. Then they can invest their home profits and retire on them, the way the baby boomers' parents have. Even people who stay in their homes have the option of taking reverse mortgages, which are better than ever, to fund part of their retirement.

-- You don't have to leave everything to your kids. Many of the studies also assume retirement savings will spin off only 4 percent to 5 percent of income every year. That is the figure that you would use if you wanted to never draw down your savings at all. Mathematically, a 4 percent withdrawal rate should allow a diversified portfolio to last forever. But there are worse sins than dipping into principal as you age. Wasting your precious pre-retirement and retirement years worrying obsessively ...
# The bottom line? Save what you can in tax-favored accounts. Pay down your debts. And stop being pushed into a panic by an industry that wants you feeling that way.
Chances are, you're going to be just fine.

HIGH THREE: Paratroopers of `Akash Ganga' team forming the tricolour as part of the 8th Corps reunion of the Corps of EME in Secunderbad on Monday.
THEY ARE brave and gallant men who do not hesitate even for a moment before diving from the heights that we can only imagine. They can jump from as high as 30,000 feet in the soaring skies and yet, land right on the target and are known to be the pride of Indian Army.

On Monday the audience at the `Adventure Mela,' organised as part of the 8th Corps reunion of the Corps of Electronics and Mechanical Engineering, were left spellbound at the spectacular performance of paratroopers of `Akash Ganga' team, who dived from thousands of feet and landed exactly on their targets with great elegance and ease.

While one of them carried the EME flag, the highlight of the Skydiving Performance was the Three Soldiers who formed the Tricolour Pattern Mid-air.

The mela was declared open by the Director-General of EME and Senior Colonel Commandant, Lieutenant General V.K. Dhir, at a colourful ceremony at Tattoo Ground, 1 EME Centre, Secunderabad.

Show Stealer

Though the skydiving enthralled everyone, `Tornadoes' stole the show with stunning stunts on a 350 cc motorcycle.

For a moment, the audience was jolted when one of the soldiers performed the awesome `tube light' jump. Another amazing feat was the one wherein two groups on motorcycles started off on high speed and hurtled `into' each other only to bifurcate in the last minute.

Sky Tore Apart

Then there was the extraordinary `Surya Kiran' display in which six aircraft, all in one cluster, tore the sky apart leaving a trail of colourful smoke, which formed into the tricolour. Other remarkable events were the parasailing and the vintage car show.

`Oldies' like the `Hup Mobile', a five-passenger Sedan of 1935, the `Dodge' of 1947, a six-cylinder convertible, both owned by Captain K.S. Pestonji and the Hillman of 1948 were the cynosure of all eyes.

"The 8th Corps reunion is a red-letter day in the history of our great Corps," Lt.Gen. V.K. Dhir said. Earlier, officers laid wreaths in honour of the martyrs and felicitated war widows.

Press Sense - 24 / 11 : Text Message Flirt Fined

ROME (Reuters) - Tue Nov 23, 2004: Italians love their mobile phones and often carry out love affairs over them -- but they must beware, flirting with text messages can carry a fine.
A judge in the northern Italian town of Padua on Monday found a man who sent an unsolicited compliment by SMS guilty of harassment and fined him 300 euros ($391), Italian news agency Ansa reported.

"Since you appeared before my eyes I can't do anything but think of you," the man had written to a clerk while on lunch break, Ansa said. She took the offending SMS to the police.

Italians own more mobile phones and send more text messages per person than any other European country, according to Eurostat and Censis surveys.

* Over-Zealous Italian Traffic Police End Up in Dock
Wed Nov 24, 2004
ROME (Reuters) - Driving in the bus lane -- without a driver -- is perhaps the most bizarre charge leveled at bemused motorists by Rome's over-zealous traffic police.
But according to a public prosecutor the police have also issued tickets to people who had never been in the city and fined the same motorist for the same offence at the same time in different parts of town.
"It seems like the set of an Italian Comedy: the craziest city in the world," said a local leader.
Investigations have been opened against 12 traffic police in response to hundreds of protests from outraged motorists.

Fri Nov 26, 2004
LONDON (Reuters) - A British hotel chain is offering couples called Mary[.b] and [b]Joseph a free night's stay over Christmas.
"We are trying to make up for the hotel industry not having any rooms left on Christmas Eve 2004 years ago," said Sandy Leckie, manager of the Travelodge hotel in London's Covent Garden.

"Our hotel is definitely more comfortable than a stable. I just hope they don't bring their donkey," he said.

But the offer has just one proviso -- the couples have to produce identification showing their names.

Press Sense - 28 / 11 : Why Old Habits Are Hard To Change?

* Why Old Habits Are Hard To Change?

New Delhi, Nov 24 (PTI) Jumping a red light; craving for a smoke or getting angry in a particular situation, you just can't help it! - old habits die hard, as they say. New research, however, shows that it is because these habits are "learned behaviours" which are automatically recalled by the subconscious memory, especially during stress.
The research conducted at Washington University found that old habits always seem to win out despite one's good intentions.

Researcher Cindy Lustig's findings help explain why smokers crave a cigarette under stress. "Our old habits become more automatic over time. Stress does not only wreak havoc on our physical being, it can also disrupt our capacity to control our memory and behaviour. As a result, lifelong habits which are automatically stored in our subconscious, become more influential," says the report.

"There are two types of habits - adaptive and ]b]maladaptive[b]. While adaptive ones are positive habits, say running for safety in case of fire, but there are some others like smoking after dinner which are maladaptive and need to be corrected," says Dr Samir Parekh, noted psychiatrist.

He says they are difficult to break as they have been adopted over a long period of time but this does not mean they cannot be corrected - it essentially involves breaking a cycle of corelation and then substituting it. PTI

CRPF trooper kills 7 colleagues.

Thank You, A2C, ...
Irate jawan kills 7 CRPF soldiers ...

CRPF sources said an internal inquiry is being conducted to ascertain the reasons for the trooper's murderous rage.

There have been several incidents of troopers reacting violently to the stress of being posted in Jammu and Kashmir. Psychologists and counselors have been employed by various army and paramilitary units to sort out the problems of tension and trauma among troopers and officers.

Such studies have indicated that continued distance from their families, the discharge of duties in an extremely hostile environment and the absence of recreational facilities are said to be the main causes for such ugly incidents.

Many soldiers have killed commanding officers on the refusal of leave or in knee-jerk responses to the call of duty. An incident like last night's encounter is a major challenge to security managers in Kashmir.

BERLIN (Reuters) - A German singer who plays Snow White has lost her job at Dresden's Christmas fair after posing for nude photos in a bathtub, Bild newspaper said on Monday.
Fair organizers fired Samira, 22, after photos appeared in Bild and other publications showing her lying naked in a bathtub filled with soap suds and rose petals.

Samira, whose surname was not given, has played Snow White for five years. Dresden's mayor and others who miss her performance are asking that she be reinstated.***

Congratulations, Quiet But "Telling" Kumble!

Kumble equalled former captain Kapil Dev's Indian bowling record of 434 Test Wickets on Thursday when he dismissed South Africa's Makhaya Ntini in the second and final Test.

Jumbo, as Kumble is fondly called, is undoubtedly one of the most successful bowlers, winning countless Test matches for India.

‘CONGRATULATIONS’ Kumble, for Your Quiet But "Tellingly" Brilliant Performance.

ENGINEERS vs DOCTORS

Future Engineers
Not caring constructive ideas
Learning destructive skills
''What is t-square?''
It’s a meeting place over a cup of tea
Planning not progress of country, but regression only,

Medicos cooperate
Throwing out hippocratic oath
Not caring for democracy
Adopting demon-cracy.

If you are not recognized
In your own party
Get out start another party
Promising the new entries
Some mini-ministers posts
This is ghost politics.

Press Sense - 6 / 12 : Sunderbans Residents to Award Lapierre for his 'City of Joy'

New Delhi, Dec 5 (PTI) After authoring a modern era classic based on the lives of the less privileged in Kolkata in his book 'City of Joy', French Writer Dominique Lapierre gifted a medical lifeline on water with the same name to the people of the Sunderbans.

Four boats bearing the name 'City of Joy' have been providing medical help to 54 islands of the swampy region for the last seven years, and the grateful people of the area are felicitating the author tomorrow with the 'Sunderban Seva Award.' The mobile hospitals that go from island to island are perhaps the only means of medical help for the residents of the Sunderbans.

In India, to receive the award and also to take part in the programmes held in Bhopal to mark the anniversary of the 1984 gas tragedy, Lapierre says the first such motor boat was launched in the area seven years back.

"The first boat was such a success and people began relying on it so much that we decided to put four more hospital boats in the Sunderbans," says Lapierre, who will receive the Award in Sonepur Island tomorrow. PTI

Three PJs - Press Jokes  :) :P

A journalist had done a story on gender roles in Kuwait several years before the Gulf War, and she noted then that women customarily walked about 10 feet behind their husbands.

She returned to Kuwait recently and observed that the men now walked several yards behind their wives.

She approached one of the women for an explanation. "This is
marvelous," said the journalist. "What enabled women here to achieve this reversal of roles?"

Replied the Kuwaiti woman: "Land mines."

The lawyer cabled his client overseas: "Your mother-in-law passed away in sleep. Shall we order burial, embalming or cremation?"
Pat came the reply, "Don't take chance - order all three."

When asked for her occupation, a woman charged with a traffic violation said she was a schoolteacher. The judge rose from the bench. "Madam, I have waited years for a schoolteacher to appear before this court," he smiled
with delight. "Now sit down at that table and write 'I will not pass through a red light' five hundred times."
