I think you are mistaking preference with racism.Igiveadamn wrote:I have realised that despite trying hard to be a good person, I am a racist. I can't get myself to go out with a black girl for example.

Well that's exactly what I told. We are racists on a much bigger scale, dating/marrying black women is just an example that I gave. Let me give u another example. Indians who are in white dominated countries are always complaining about racism, but when it comes down to them they exercise it readily. What is worse is tht it makes us hypocrites too.asli_badmash wrote:Racism is much bigger... I beleive you dont have a preference for Black girls. Maybe you havent seen the right kind. You know, the Naomi Camplbells, Halle Berry's(oh la la.. )...
Also you ought to look beyond the color of the skin.. black folk are very nice people once you get to know them. I have dated a few black girls and white too. I can tell you the white women dont have the sense of humor of a black women. They are class. Specially since they try so hard to come up in life.
A black women will kill for her man.. and so will and Indian women.
Yes.. but isnt that chaging now..Igiveadamn wrote:"We want a fair, good looking girl from so and so caste only for our GC/H1 son in USA" - ever heard that before?

It's changing but only in the cosmopoliton cities. Maybe you should look around a little more. Majority of the people would still give their lives up for stupid reasons.Igiveadamn wrote:This trend is more prevalent among people from small towns and villages.
True in a way.. but doesnt it always start in the city and go down to the little places. I am sure, the media is doing its bit. Its only a matter of time.Igiveadamn wrote:It's changing but only in the cosmopoliton cities. Maybe you should look around a little more. Yes, the media should come out do it's part. What I have observed is that peopl who come from outside and settle in cities take a longer time to change, like for example two-three generations. As long as they have their original roots in their towns/villages they are going to be bound to silly customs and beliefs. Well, atleast most of them.asli_badmash wrote:True in a way.. but doesnt it always start in the city and go down to the little places. I am sure, the media is doing its bit. dogmatic renegade wrote:They are not anymore racist than the snooty Britishers or the impossibly hypocritic Americans. No matter what is said and done, Indians can only, perhaps, match the revolting levels of racism practiced by these guys. They can never surpass it.

lonewolf wrote:You can't be more right on this. And Indians keep calling everyone "racist" at the drop of a hat. One of my former desi roomies had a Walmart employee lose her job because she she did not smile at him when he went to pay his electricity bill. All he had to do was tell her manager the next day of his "racist" experience, and the poor girl lost her job. If we extended the racism law to include Indians (and Afro-Americans as well), half the country would be either jobless or sitting in jail.
