Who does the term a Metro-Sexual mean? Is it one of those new age craps like " Live-in relationships" where we just try to fixate reasons for odd doings?.



According to me, the so called metro-sexual is a person suffering with some sort of identity crisis. He does not know of the kind of person he should shape himself as.May be is compelled to be so by the growing breed of 'demaning women' who go for that right blend of Dandruff free smooth hair ( like in the Clinic + Ad) coupled with below avg to avg IQ and cash to burn. He becomes metro-sexual, a new sub-species lost in the metropolitan life style with pseudo accents and car keys.Knows a lot about 'true love', condoms,' what women want and nothing about Gandhi. He may know a lot about the west, but then thats a different type of bug that has got into our system



Its not merely the usage of feminine beauty products, its the state of mind. Its the state of mind where, we get are scared of a harmless snake, but would not mind demonstrating our bike-riding skills to a babe ( with psuedo everything).



HAd it been using fairness creams, then the state of mind would have collapsed because i know a person who has been using Fair and Lovely and he has neither become fair nor turned lovely.

AFAIK from google and magazines, a metrosexual is a man who cares a lot abt himself and does not flinch from trying out all possible means to improve his looks n personality. he is a user of cosmetics like skin lotions, gells, expensive colognes, perfumes etc. he has a fine taste in clothes and has a well groomed look.



he is usually a straight male. he is generally monogamous n cares for his family. he respects his wife's independence and career and does not think twice abt helping her in housework. he takes time out for his family and is also a successful professional. and they do endup on Page 3 since they love having a good life and party a lot.



he does not believe in hiding his feelings and emotions. he might shed tears unashamedly if situation demands....and horrors of horrors, he might enjoy SRK films...



this is the typical profile of an urban metrosexual!

i do care abt my family and clothes, but i dont spend too much time getting a makeover as Lexi says! and i dont show my emotions and I HATE SRK FILMS....so there....

i dont really think metrosexual would be a right thing term to use in the Indian context, we have a whole cultural difference thing when we compare our selves to the western society where the man is just hard working and is supposed to look tough, but our society lefft it to the caste system to look after the damn thing about who has to be physically tough, who has to be gentle and who has to do what.



on the contrary, in the western socisety, a typical metrosexual would be a person who would be very senssitive to small isssues, makes sure he dresses up very well, grooms himself, is well behaved in public, uses cosmetics and other supplements, makes sure he has a nice butt (optional).

and yeah...... one more thing... well... i might say.. the most important.... does nt really enjoy sports, either doing or watching.
