Was watching an episode of 'Indian Idol' (for the uninitiated, its an all India hunt for singing talent in the country) on TV. There was this one participant (a girl of about 17) who sang something that was unfortunately not in tune.
What got my goat was a certain Anu Malik's reaction, "Aap agar competition main akele hoti tab bhi aap last aati" and more stinging remarks. Stung by the unexpected criticism/barbs, the girl left with tears in her eyes.
The judges have had a lot of fun at the participants' expense all in the name of entertainment. If the participant enjoys the joke, then its ok. But making them feel like crap, by poking fun at their lack of singing abilities is definitely not on.
Anyone who concurs?

If you posed that question to me: The host is Ryan Seacrest, and those 3 are the judges.

it has got more entertainment value than the real need for talent. anu malik is the lousiest person to b a judge. and whats Farha khan doing trying to judge singers. sonu nigam is a little better since he has hosted sa re ga ma before.
but over all its a waste of time watching these shows.

jitna joor ka dhakka lagega, untana accha talent ubrega, if at all the participant really wants to acheive. Otherwise he/she is lost.
It hurts, but ... one should be strong enough to face things coming their way.

Some criticize constructively and some distructively. Got to face them.
I don't think any human being deserves that kind of a comment... that too from Anu Malik

i totally agree. i dont think anyone has a right to humiliate anyone. if you dont like just dont select that person. its that simple.

Hi Tiger.
In my opinion, Gentoois more or less a copy of Debian
but the portage concept makes it unique in itself. I know about the optimisation/flag stuff in Gentoo.. but the performance improvement is almost negligible.
I wanted to install Gentoo on this computer to try it out, but can't afford to spend 30 to 40 hours just doing an installDebian Sarge installed rather fast (only 30 minutes) for a full install with all the stuff I need, including IceWM, XFCE and Flux WMs. And man, XFCE rocks!! Its the best lightweight WM I've ever used!! I don't know why Linux users keep yakking about GNOME and KDE when you have others like Flux and XFCE

BTW my computer here in office is a 500MHz desktop with 384MB RAM, and it runs faster with Debian Sarge than the other 3GHz desktops which have Windows XP installed
I use apt-get update and apt-get upgrade to keep my software upto date'apt' in Debian is way too cool
Screw RPMs
Debian rocks!!!!

Actually it did. Tiger uses Gentoo Linux and I use Debian GNU/Linux.
My signature consists of a couple of regular commands I use on my computer, and which are unique to Debian GNU/Linux. Tiger noticed my signature and posted the equivalent Gentoo command here
