Lemme say Hi to all of you as this is my first blog on fullhyd. I've been riding a bike since the past 4-5 yrs till now. It was quite manageable in hyderabad without a license except a few situations where i ran up pleading those traffic police or bribing them. In most of the cases i ended up placing some bucks in their hands and i thought its not much a deal to drive without a license rather than spending time standing in lines to get one.
But what i see these days is that it has become almost impossible to drive on the city roads without bearing a drving license. I dont say to drive without the license. But...theres a limit for everything. and moreover the government is for the people ..right? I mean to say that the government rules should b in such a way that it shud b helpful for the citizens rather than harassing them. How many riders you think are gonna pay each day these chalaans to the government. whats this government is up to? its ok to charge up to 300-500 bucks. But these new rules like "seizing the vehicle", "wearing helmets" etc...i wonder whether is it making any sense or not. How can anyone seize my vehicle and keep it for themselves just for the reason that i dont have a learning license. Then they should have made the license procedure easy enough to get thru...U wud b wondered to know that the other day i went to get my license when i found that the slots were booked till 2-3 days...and i've to book a slot for the coming week just to get my learning license. What the heck is this?
Finally i decided not to take a license......in my life.

Hello, and welcomeHey all,

Even the driving license is for the people, not for Govt. But what i see these days is that it has become almost impossible to drive on the city roads without bearing a drving license. I dont say to drive without the license. But...theres a limit for everything. and moreover the government is for the people ..right?

of all the cities that i have been in hyd is the least stringent in terms of cops. i would rather call them polite and understanding. every other city the cops tear u apart. and most of all the traffic situation in hyd is so damn pathetic that what is being done is inadequate. and dude lifes not a pice a cake.a license is still a piece of cake in india.u have to study a lot for gettin a licence abroad is what i have heard. so pal take it easy get that license.go thru the rules and follow them too.

As they say, most of these jobs are low paying... but people retire very rich. My friend's friend's father was in the administrative service and the son was always complaining about how the father wanted to be honest and hence they had a middle class lifestyle, whereas if the father had been like others in his organization, they would have led a comfy lifestyle

the most unfortunate part about it all is that corruption exists at all layers in the system and its very difficult not to be the corruptor or corrupted.in bangalore RTO i had to get some job done and the guys shanmelessly ask u the money directly. this guy asked me for 100 bucks and i din wanna refuse coz it would mean they would not do my job. the funny part is he gave me stickers of Armed forces day of 2003 almoost 10 months old.

Oh well... I remember this labour inspector who would come and sit in my office for hours... expecting to receive a gift... he'd threaten to take action on me because I wasn't complying with a certain law... it didn't seem to matter to him that that particular law didn't apply to me...

Yes it make sense.
I have seen young guys dying with severe head injury with brain stem injuries. They struggle for 3 to 4 days before that.
It is very miserable for doctors too going through these deaths.
I have seen guys survived by wearing helmets.
Mr Chandra babu naidu tried his level best to impose Helmet rule. But unfortunately he cant succeed.
Let us hope Dr Saab succeed in imposing helmet rule by November 3rd.
I am wearing helmets since 1999.
Secondly winter is coming. So helmet may not be a problem.
Go ahead

I totally agree with Sujatha. I've been wearing a helmet ever since I bought the bike. But convincing others to wear it is always a toughie

i have been riding a bike since a lotta years and i always wanted to have a helmet but the pain of carrying it around all over the place is what stops me from buying one.
