I am sorry to say but I think the incidents u narrated look like nicely narrated stories, I cant believe whn u say ppl spat pan on u 3 times and that tooo near nagarjuna circle.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok, its very simple to figure out. Dress up as a girl and try

1. Walking through the college road in dilsukhnagar... the one that passes from nobel college to DSNR

2. Any dark lane in SR Nagar

3. Try standing in Koti bus stop in evenings

do this for one week and let me know how many times u get ur boobs squeezed, body groped and spit on.

The Nobel college thugs are so notorious in DSNR that girls are scared to walk on that road. Two of my friends got smacked on their back by passing motorists.

The SR nagar lanes are famous too... I was shocked when my friend told me that he used to do that - touching girls while speeding on bike.

Koti and DSNR bus stops are notorious famous for eve teasers. They dont differentiate between young gals and workign women... my sister and her friend were targetted by a bunch of thugs for one month. Finally they complained to the police and they were taken care of.

Spitting is also not new. IIRC there was a blog abt the same by princess of poop (?) on FH blogs.

Being spit on is a rare thing and let it stay that way... Dont for godsake exaggerate things and form stupid opinions about HYD. It happens in any part of the world... Its not ingenious to India only, specifically Hyd only.

Thats stooopid logic. Arti pointed out her personal experience and a lot of people confirm it, so you just cannot say that hyd is aisa and waisa, and ignore the fact.

I also like hyd, but i know that there are many problems with it. i overlook the bad and look at the brighter side of things. But if someone points out to me some problem in hyd, i will straightaway acknowledge it.

This discussion board says

1. A gal Arti was spit-on thrice in a very short span in one of hyderabad's busiest junctions.

2.Mayavi says that if i wld dress up as a gal and go to koti and dsnr streets my boobs wld be squeezed , my bak spanked and i donno wat all, many times in a week.

3.CAD,Sharjeel etc say that they have heard about these incidents from many of their frnds, so approx. 70% of ppl posting messages in this thread believe these kinds of incidents happen VERY FREQUENTLY in HYDERABAD.

So now can I infer from this that almost every other gal had to go thru these kinds of insulting behaviour?

Spitting is very common and if you didnt know that, know it now and atleast dont pretent that it doesnt exist. No one is out here to degrade hyderabads reputation, we are all Hyderabadis and we are as proud of our city as you are, yet we need to acknowledge the negative aspects of thsi city. I dunno how bad the situation in other cities is, and even if its worse that Hyderabad, thats no consolation for us.

My sister was spit on, not once, not twice, everyday... may not be paan but cigarette butts, chewed paper missiles, seeds of fruits... u know, regi kayalu, I dunno what its called in english and many more things. Hell, I have seen my callmate spitting small paper balls (which were chewed) on gals, that too in class room. :roll:

u can bury ur head in ground like an ostrich and pretend that nothings happening, that these things are rare, but my dear friend... these things are not as rare as you would like to think. Just keep your eyes open when u re travelling and u can see such incidents everyday.

I'm glad it is your last post in this thread. For heaven's sake, grow up. I didn't post this to get an upperhand in this discussion. The fact remains that it does happen. Maybe people don't talk about it and maybe I happen to be one of those that chose to.

If you think this city only has a good side and nothing at all going against it, I'd suggest that while you keep your eyes open, you also try and stay awake so that you don't just see... you also notice stuff.

Worse has happened at Koti. But none of that is unique to hyderabad. That's why I didn't bother writing about it.

Traffic in Hyd is terrifying.

What is this about two wheelers in Hyd? I've been riding a two wheeler for more than 12 years now. But the traffic in Hyd put me off... so I decided to not get my bike here.

When we were discussing that, my father pointed out an article in the TOI that talked about how girls get teased/patted at traffic signals when they are on a bike. Is that one of the things that happens only in Hyderabad? I've never faced that anywhere else. I'm not saying that it doesn't happen anywhere at all... that's why I ask.

yeah arti, have so been there. it was damn depressing the first time it happened - and along the taj krishna road too, strange - but tried to talk myself out of it.

it helps to realise that these are sick people, who have very few means of entertainment in their life. doing things like this gives them a kick, and a sense of power.

like autowallahs who adjust their mirror to lech at you. they have very empty lives, and only things like this to fill it with. doesn't change anything, but it puts things in perspective some, don't you think?

At places like Prasadz when people bump into us on purpose, I always tell my friend to first assign a single digit IQ to the people who do such things... I tell her that doing that will make us feel better... feel that in logon ki akal itni hi hai
