Disgusting incidents

I'm so irritated with an incident that took place last evening that I've decided to start a new thread here without checking if anyone has discussed this before. If this is a repeated topic, my apologies. If not, do let me know what you think.



I've lived, studied and worked, pretty much, all over the country. And I know that Indians all over have this nasty habit of spitting. But everywhere else that I've been, people spit on the road. It's only in this great city of the Nizams that I find people spit on other people.



The first time I witnessed such an incident was in Ameerpet. My friend and I decided to walk from Lifestyle to Ameerpet Chermas because we had plenty of time to kill. My friend was dressed in a pair of white trousers and a printed shirt that had a white background. A couple of guys sped past us on a scooter and before we knew it, the pillion rider had spat pan on my friend. We ditched all plans and rushed home.



A few months later, another friend and I decided to walk from Fabindia to Nagarjuna Circle. It wasn't very late... must have been around 7 p.m. My friend was wearing light blue jeans and a guy went past in a scooter and spat on her. This was right in front of the Jalagam Vengal Rao Park.



Last night, the same friend and I were walking from near the GVK Estate to Chutneys to have dinner. We wanted to walk, but remembering the last incident, we thought taking an auto might be simpler. Just when we came to the CKar building, one guy went past us on a scooter with no licence plate. He almost hit me. When we came to the park, we stopped an auto. Just then the guy went past again, spat pan on both of us and sped away.



Everywhere else that I've been, I've seen people spit. But the only time it has fallen on me has been when I've accidentally been in the line of fire... like beneath a bus window or something. But in Hyderabad... words really fail me. What jerks those guys must be... and what kind of sadistic pleasure they must derive from such stupid actions!!

I'm surprised that you've been saying this for most of my experiences in this city. I have been here for 15 months now. There are things that I like about this place and things that I find absolutely disgusting.



But I continue to give this city more time.

Well it better not be that case! When I was in Hyd last, I was in western attire a majority of the time I went out.

For the record, I was wearing a salwar kameez on all three occasions. And last evening, I was spat on too.

Reminds me of an incident when I was going in a bus and sitting by window seat and saw a gentleman rush to the door and get off the running bus, few seconds later a scooter pulled in front of the bus and the bus came to a halt and the riders got into the bus and started abusing me . I was then looked at his shirt... it had phlegm... the gentleman who got down in a hurry spat thru the window and it fell on this fella and seeing him stop the bus, got down in a hurry and I had to face the music. Thanks to the conductors intervention I was saved from beating.

Anyway, spitting pan is disgusting... I dunno what sadistic pleasure these perverts get by spitting on a woman, but come to think of it, spitting is better than slowing down on a vehicle and pressing boobs or spanking on the back and speeding away. Heard a gal saying that more than the embrassment, it really hurts when someone hits u from behind .while speeding away
