'Peeping Tom' scares Ghosha patients; police outpost sought

BANGALORE: A mysterious figure peeping on women in a hospital ward has given them sleepless nights for the past few days. The menace has created such a fear among patients at the Haji Sir Ismail Sait Ghosha Hospital in Shivajinagar that the management now demands a police outpost after the women raised a hue and cry.

According to the patients and their attenders in the post operative ward (No. 23) where half a dozen newborn babies are being nursed, a black figure began peeping in through the ventilators inside the ward on Tuesday night.

The ‘Peeping Tom’ reappeared on Thursday and Friday nights even as the women screamed out of shock. Three of them who claimed to have seen the figure told this that they fear it was someone who came to steal their babies.

When it made a reappearance late on Sunday night, the patients called their relatives at home for help as there were only two ‘unskilled’ watchmen to guard the hospital.

According to the men, they chased the intruder who jumped onto the adjacent building where a Congress office is located. But the culprit, a teenager with oil smeared on his face, gave them the slip.

A complaint has been lodged with the Commercial Street police, who has assured to post a constable in the hospital for the time being.

On Monday, the hospital authorities meshed the open ventilators and wrote letters to the health department asking for security. Hospital Superintendent Dr. Kalyani has also written to the City Police Commissioner to grant an outpost in the hospital. The request had been made by her predecessors.

Though authorities denied any case of babies being stolen from the hospital, a senior police officer said nearly 10 years ago, a purda-clad woman had walked out with a baby boy, only to be caught by the police within hours

Sure guys have male friends, but they dont call them "boyfriends". The reason is obvious, I mean, homosexuality is so common of late. No hetero guy would want people to think he swings that way.

Girls do call their female friends 'girlfriends' though.

we call them boys.

n ya, i think its pretty different with girls, they would nt mind other girls touching them gently and feeling them, but for boys, i am sure its a strict taboo, atleast with straight guys.

My entire premise is different here. Check out the following points.

1. PT says he/she is a doctor working in a cancer hospital. If you remember his/her post on the Prasad's multiplex thread, he/she says about ppl bringing cellphones to movies that their heads should be chopped off. Not a doctor's language for sure.

2. The alias Eswar Reddy used by PT on one of his/her threads is not something femmes would use for impersonation. Just doesn't fit in.

3. Somehow the way PT has been carrying himself/herself here on the DB gives strong indications that he/she is a guy.

I could be wrong....but thats how it looks.

I have seen some of the quarrelling useless characters use that word before any conversation get shaped up properly.

They used to kill the conversation prematurely.

Before thinking and using their brain properly, some characters keep on using that word (abey) and make the atmosphere more uncomfortable. That too in with a very loud voice.

I was initially not used to this type of characters.

I am from calm background.

After these abey colleagues/characters entered in my professional life, I tailored myself.

OK. CHOD YAR. Leave everything.

Skipping lunch today.

Then going to Prasadz multiplex in the afternoon (Shankar Dada MBBS).

Then to ISKCON Centre Secunderabad.

Only Coffees in between.

Then with voracious appetite at evening, going to Greenpark at 1930 hrs today to have the wonderful traditional full course Kerala (mallu) dinner.

Let us hope for the wonderful Sunday.

My dear perfectionist please note that was just fun toasted word issued by an active medic girl.

I have already taken the great Hippocrates oath .

About Hippocratus.

Greek physician of antiquity who is traditionally regarded as the father of medicine. His name has long been associated with the so-called Hippocratic Oath—certainly not written by him—which in modified form is still often required to be taken by medical students on graduating.

Did you mean the following oath...

- In every patient we Doctors see only money not a human being. Patients are cash cows first and then they Human beings.

- Money is what makes the patient treatable. If the patient has more money he gets better treatment. Alas, Money is what makes the world go around.

- What ever the disease.. We doctors shall give the patient a saline injection and extract more money from him/her.

- Patient dying or living is not in our hands.. Doctors are here to make money. God has already made their jatakam(life chart), who the heck are doctors to mess with it.

My view:  :x :(

PS: There are more intricate ones I have left out.. you can make them up as you go!

This is a Wonderful point to debate.

See there are different categories of doctors in India.

Some of them are so lucky; they have both permanent state government jobs and own private clinics. These types of people never care about their patients inside government hospital wards. They just come to the government hospital in the morning, do some rounds, and then push off. Meanwhile they are always getting in touch with with their private policlinic patients with latest model mobile phone. These guys are luckiest but dangerous to the poor strata.

Second variety is purely private doctors with postgraduate qualification. They do not have the government service. They do not have much life security. They practise with fear of sues. However, once these guys get some popularity they start extracting money from middle, upper middle and upper class people. However, you know getting popularity among public is extremely difficult now a days.

Third variety is of doctors like me. We are central government employed doctors. You know our hands are neatly tied up. We cannot do private practice. Still our condition is OK. We are satisfied with whatever we get (Central government-class one salary, and perks). The advantage is that we need get too much tension regarding our patients and duties.

The fourth class is the poor MBBS doctors who do not have the government jobs. They are the most frustrated lot. They just get rupees 5000/- per month in private hospitals. In private hospitals, also they are treated like shit. You know in friends circle, they will keep on telling that ‘I am preparing for PG (post graduation)’ etc. they are the rotten lot. They generally just disappear from society. What is their future? No body knows. They are the poor MBBS souls generated by god.

Not all Lawyers are bad, you know. The same for doctors. Its unfortunate how a bunch of greedy pill-pushers and Ambulance-chasers ruined the image of such noble professions completely beyond repair.

Medical care has become extremely commercialised. They've been various cases where a person was put on the Ventilator just to generate enormous hospital bills. :x Really pisses me off. It pisses everyone off. The tension through the days and then the person being proclaimed dead and then the enormous bill to be paid..... :x :x
Things are supposed to happen the way they happen. And the reason they happen the way the happen is because you try to make them happen in a certain way and may or may not be succesful.
