Hike in Hyderabad.

I am itching for a Hike... a long outdoor walk. Anybody game for it.



We should plan it such that we end up at a nice lake or some interesting place. Sounds fun isnt it!



Any suggestions...



Rules for the hike route plan:



- Close to the city so people can join us.



- Hike is on Sunday Oct 10th. (Fixed)



- Not more than 15Km - 20 Km both ways. (distance negotiable)



- Should have a distinct start point. Or make sure you give exact directions to the start place.



- Should end at some nice place, where we can sit down and catch our breath, some water and maybe some food.



- People should have options to quit the hike in the middle. Get picked up by support folk/ Auto/ Bus and return to the end point.



My suggestion(1)... (10-15 Km both ways)

- Start Point - KBR Park main gate

- Time - Sunday 10th - 8:30 AM (negotiable)

- Middle Point - The park next to the lake near Hi-Tech city.

- End point - KBR Park. Whenever we do...



My suggestion(2)(6-8 Km)

- Walk around Tank Bund.

- Time Sunday 10th - 6:30 AM(negotiable)



Put in your suggestions and then we can vote... but 10th is the date for the hike.

if there is more time to think n plan, i suggest Anantagiri Hills near Vikarabad....the weather's also perfect for a hike/trek in lush green hills.



but this has to be properly planned coz Vikarabad's abt 3 hr drive from here and we have to make arrangements for food.

Once me,my cousins,dad,friends went on a hike from J.Hills to Gandipet.There we had our breakfast and then came back.It was pretty tiresome but the walk was pleasant.I dont think people have the time for a 17KM walk huh?

Yeah it was a great walk. We went through Toli Chowki,Quli Qutub Shah Tombs,Military Cantonment and then we joined the road at the Guradwar Temple and then had our breakfast at Dream Valley,returned in a bus.The weather was great. .That time we didnt know the road from ISB to direct Gandipet(back side beside Ocean Park).

I suggest this time when we meet up people take a poop before the walk. We dont want to roll turds down the hill.

considering the suggestion to hike from gandipet to some other lake, i think this would be a nie place. its well connected to all parts of the city, good transport, and food would nt be a big problem after the hike.

the other option would also be ICRISAT, but i guess u ll have to get a prior permission for a hike there. But from what i ve heard its a good hike path if u are thinking of close to the city.

there is a race for the cure here (breast cancer org) and i have volunteered for the past 4 years, but i might walk if i can get sponsors ? or a group ?
