today is the Birth Anniversary of Dr. Vishveshwarayya. He is one the greatest architects of modern India. He designed many irrigation projects including some major dams.....thats why we have his statue at khairatabad....and the flyover is also named after him.

mereko bhi aisa koi day rehta bolke parsaunich malum pada

for God's sake!!!

I posted a looooong post in the morning. It vanished!

Anyway, it was just a reply to Az and DQ, but it will be stale to repeat it now.

Thank you for the info Akhil; this about-to-be-engineer did not know anything about the Engineers' Day. I knew that there was a Eng. day and that it was the Great Man's B'day, but I did not know the ekjakt date.

Me going to Nagpur for a day to fill up the Exam form for Final Year. Will be so nice to visit my beloved land again.

i am not a management guy...i am an IT techie...but no where from any science or math stream...and i have engineers n MCAs working under me!

surprised?

reality is u dont need to be an engineer or anywhere from science stream to succeed in IT....:D...all u need is an aptitude for computers and an interest to update yrself constantly. the americans know it but the indians refuse to believe it...

if u read a report released by the industry a couple of weeks ago, u can see that the industry finds abt 5% of the engineering grads from AP suitable for ready employment....so imagine the state of the 75000 engineers who passed out recently...

many of u guys did/are doing engineering out of family or peer pressure..all the best to u guys...but please do not force yr kids to become engineers. let them be what they are interested in.

and if u are an engineer from non-computers stream dont waste yr time in IT/ITES. if u have enuf brains n talent to finish engineering...u definitely can succeed in yr own stream.

Sweet.

Anyway, Programming and tech work is something i really have no idea about. My Ex girl friend had a tough time explaning me how its done, but then, I think i better off wwith what i am doing!

And oh yeah... to all the engineers..... I have the same advice too, just follow what u have a sound knowledge in or what u excel at.
