You are confusing warm-up and exercise, SS.
Even kite flyers need to stand in the sun of long times. It is not about standing in the sun or running here and there. If I devote a mojor part of my day to learning something, then it is natural to expect that it should make me progress in proportion to the time I spend.
Akhil, I agree that MA people do exercises, but they are only doing it to make them EVEN more strong. I have been doing serious MA (3 hours everyday) for thepast 2 years. Believe me, if I did not do a single push-up, it would not matter. I would just have to do a more punches to make up. I used to practice at a ground where Vidarbha's team for handball, boxing, fencing and ladies cricket used to practice. So I also know what people in different sports do as part of warm-up and fitness.
Akhil and SS, exercise, warmup, etc, is not part of cricket per se. And, how many cricketers do you think will exercise for an hour before they play? Just the ones who are under professional coaching, no more.
And why am I whining about it? It is because I look around at my fellow Indians and they are all pathetic in terms of their fitness. Most have some fitness problem or the other. Ask them what they do for exercise, they will say, "Oh I play Cricket regularly.". Which is why I am continiously saying that people should not confuse cricket with fitness.
