hey, where is the test held? (think its somewhere in mehdipatnam)

naah...its the other end of town...Nagole on the Ring Road near Uppal...

any idea what happens in the test.. I heard lots of new things have been introduced which are compulsory (S-shaped turns, parallel parking...??)

Yeah all that is pretty simply if you know how to drive and reverse.Took the test 20 days ago .But the instuction which those guys give SUCK (They keep the instuctions on a board right before you perform the test,its the same you get on the peice of paper they give when you pass the computer test).



1.First there is an S-Turn(Pretty Simple and straight foward,didnt know whether my car could fit or not ,so take a small car).



2.Then there is freaky H-turn where you have to back up the car and turn(This is the place where most people failed because they didnt read the instuctions properly,you have to go cronologically from 1-4,i mean from 1-2,2-3 and 3-4.Take the car and keep it in the first slot,then back up the car to your left and keep it in 2 to your left,then go front to 3 and then back it up to 4 on your right).If you have the peice of paper you will know what I am taking about.



3.Then there isi the 3-Turn Reverse and the 5-Turn Reverse.You drive into a straight dead end alley and then reverse the car right in there(You know the turn where you go front and then back;turn,go front and then back;turn,go front and back;turn go front and back.This kind of turn can be seen in Austin Powers Part I,Austin gets stuck in the alley ,pretty funny scene.)You have to do 2 such kind of reverses,one where you have to complete with 3 turns(Broader Alley) and then one with 5 turns(Thiner Alley).This is also the place where people screw up,all they do is go straight in the alley and back it up straight back,my friend screwed up this part.



4.Then you have to turn and then drive straight for like 100-150 Ft(This is too simple,watch out for the road its gets pretty bumpy ).



5.Then you have to complete the parallel park.All you need to do is reverse the car into a parking slot(Like the ones you do anywhere else).



Then you are done.Just follow my instructions and then your good to go.The test is easy but the waiting is a pain in the ass.YOu need to first wait for 10 min to get your tag on(Like the one in Runway 9) and then wait in the car in the queue for like 30-45min(better take some good music with you).Waiting with your car is irritating because there are people(mainly girls) who come from these motor driving schools who dont know drinving at all and their cars stop in between the test track and then everyoneelse waits for them,then sometimes their car stops due to bad maintainence(you know how these cars are ).



Just their testing centre is too far away.Yeah and there is this security gaurd who talks rudely to people and tells them to go away but tell him to piss of and tell him that you are related to some police officer (Almost went and hit this ****er ).I had to wait there like 1-2 hrs because first my friend took the test and then I took it,so i did all my research while my friend was waiting for his turn).

don't think the other stuff should be much of a prob coz I have pretty decent control over the car (Zen). How'd you do on your test?



The waiting times you've given me actually sound GOOD (after waiting 7 hrs over 2 days for my learner's). Music is a good idea. Will take a shotgun along in case I meet the security guard you talked about.

Yup,thats exactly how the H-Turn is.You will be entering from the right hand side of it in between 1 and 4.



Oh yeah there is also a 8-Turn.This is just like the S-Turn.Its pretty easy,all you need to klnow is where to enter in the 8.I forgot where to enter but just look at the board,I think this is pretty simple because there is an arrow on the board telling you where to go.



Yeah,I too had to wait for 7hrs for my learners licence,luckily Prasads was right nearby.
