SP is South Park, a hilarious comedy serial, not on air in India though :(

did i discover this thread too late? the discussion seems to have gone from potter to bipasha to fat chicks in rapid speed, but thought i'd chip in with my tuppence of hp gossip. from what i hear, from trusted if somewhat manic sources, the half-blood prince might actually be dean thomas or one of harry's other classmates in gryffindor.

also neville longbottom will play a pivotal role in the war against voldemort, because he was born on the same day as harry and has enough reason to want to kill the dark lord. voldemort dismisses him as harmless and concentrates on harry, so this could be the surprise twist.

btw, major potter fan here. love the books, detest the movies.

wowie .. among the few on the topic posts.. Dean Thomas as HBP ... really interesting ... him being black makes it all the more interesting .. but i always thought he awas from a Muggle family .. with his interests in Soccer & all .. but it just might be possible.

Neville Longbottom .. i totally agree has to have a bigger role .. good to see another fan around .. Welcome to the club & the DB :)

thanks hh, i quite enjoyed reading your guide to the galaxy :)

yeah, dean thomas is thoroughly muggle, isn't he? i secretly wish the half-blood prince was someone from hufflepuff, that's another group rowling's been playing down. and i also have a good feeling about luna lovegood, i think she might have something major to contribute to harry's fight. i'm also hoping harry gives up moping after silly cho chang and gets it on with luna.

i'm an incorrigable match-maker, so don't mind me. what did you think of the order of the phoenix, btw? i was very disappointed at first, but it did improve on second reading

same case with me , especially when Fred & George leave school and Umbridge is unable to do anything :D

Dean Thomas as the HBP.....hmmmmm......i still think it is some new character being added to the plot, someone who may reveal a lil more of Harry's parents' past or unearth some hitherto unknown secret. Anyway, welcome to the DBs, ull b addicted quickly enough

Now Dean Thmas may not be a pure Muggle after-all he lives with his mother & Step-Father. Not much is known abt his father & why he left. As mentioned by Rowling somewhere, he was killed by the Death Eaters .. so it might just be possible tht he turns out to be the HBP .. i dont think it gonna be new characters but rather an unknown yet to be explored background of existing character.

& You are right OoP did turn out be much darker and longer than the earlier Potters but to me it all seemed to be a build up to the next 2 books more than anything else. & as Fred & George are outta Hogwarts maybe .. we get to see them in more interesting role ;) .... as for Luna somehow i dont feel her being a pivotal character .. but i am very sure of Rita making a comeback afterall her yr long ban by Hermione is over

thank you, scorpion's sting. gee, i wonder what your sun sign is.

yeah, order of the phoenix was more of a breather between the action of goblet of fire and the sixth book. it's slow and concentrates more on character sketches. fred and george were few of the bright spots. besides, of course, lee jordan's quidditch commentary :)

yeah, skeeter and trelawney too might be called upon to do more. and maybe we'll even find out in the next book what the order has been upto. i mean, you heard precious little about them in the last book, except that they were guarding the prophecy. so many highly-trained wizards couldn't have just been playing watchmen

oooh, and i can't wait to see how snape will hold up under the pressure of spying on the death-eaters.

i hear that rowling will publish an eighth potter book, as a guide of sorts to the world of harry potter, with events and characters all listed. geez, hasn't she made enough money already from the shameless merchandising?

the Eigth book might not be such a bad idea at all ... i am definitely interested in knowing wht each character choose to pursue after Hogwarts esp Hermione, Ron, Neville & of course Malfoy ;)

Talking abt Ron & Hermione .. do you think they finally get to get along and take the relationship to the next level .. think our indigenous match-maker on the board wud have already thought of it ...

& yeah Lee Jordans Quidditch commnetary is real fun .. i think the best peices were in book 2 & 3.

you know me so well :) yup, ron and hermione, hermione and ron, it is meant to be, it is fated to happen, it is written in the stars. :D

and the way those two have been going at each other in the past two books, i'm surprised it hasn't happened already. i think it's safe to say there will be more snogging in the next book. and not all by the dementors, either. hyuk hyuk

(i'm given to frequent, unsucessful attempts at humour. kindly excuse)

you know, i think malfoy might redeem himself yet. i'm not sure how, but i'm inclined to believe in the theory that he will join forces with harry in the end.

returning to ron and hermione, i've heard that a major character is giong to die at the end of the books. we know it isn't harry - rowling would be stoned to death - but it might be one of his best buds :( i think the public outlash might total her, if she killed either one of them. sadly, i don't see dumbledore lasting through to the end. and that's really sad.

I somehow dont think its gonna be any of the trinity of Ron / Hermione / Harry ... the likely possibilities are Dumbledore, Hagrid ..

You think Malfoy can redeem and join Harry ???? given his parents backgrounds and his story so far ...

i somehow am tempted to understand wht other books have you been into lately .. its fun discussing commonly liked books :)

yeah, i'm almost certain about malfoy, although, that might just be the sop in me who likes pleasant surprises. besides i think, it's precisely malfoy seeming stupid-ness that makes me believe he will change sides.

other books? oh, i'm going through that restless phase now, when i can't read anything and keep skipping from one book to another. i'm a big fan of the discworld series, so am readin carpe jugulum by pratchett (the one and only) have you read him?

i started on a book called the curious incident of the dog in the night time, but haven't really gotten into it yet. and i've been re-reading old classics, like the essential groucho marx, william by richmal cromptom, butler's the way of all flesh, dilbert guide to management...you get the idea :)

so are you a fan of douglas adams, or is the nickname a coincidence?

^^^^ kewl .. well i am just a faithful Adamite .. the zaphods kind who would like to say So long & thanks for all the fish  afterall i live on Floor 42

other than tht .. i am yet to get on to (Terry ?) Pratchett ... however i did finish the Tom Holts & the next step as i am told is always the Pratchetts... still figuring out which one to pick up to start on ??? ... also been through all the Scott Adams Dilberts & Dogberts .. though you can see his style wavering and getting typed after a coupla books

on the topic .. I seriously think Snape's gonna turn out to be a much more intriguing character .. not tht he is any less already 8)

william's sister is ethel, and brother richard, and he and his friends are the knights of the square table. do you remember elizabeth bott, the girl with the lithp? always good to discover another outlaw :)

hey... me big fan of William too... haven't read any in a while tho.

Good thing about William is that you always remember the books as how they were when you read them..... I mean, with a lot of books you end up actually not liking them after you grow outta them.

Anyone catch my drift?
