On topic, I can answer the question with two different perspectives. Since there are two parameters involved - The venue and the partner, I'd like to present two dream vacations, one where the venue is more important and one where the partner is.



If the venue were to be more important than the partner, my dream vacation would be at Gir. Had been there once and being just 5 feet away from a lion is something I'd never forget. The place has some wonderfully clean beaches around. Lots of excellent camping sites all over the forest. And to top it all, the vacation would come at one tenth of the price of vacations to many places quoted on the thread.



Who would I like to be with at Gir? Being a narc, I'd say myself. But camping alone aint fun. I'd like to be with a gang who's at home with nature, who can help out with daily camping chores. Preferably the same age group as me, with some prior camping experience.





If the partner were to be more important than the venue, I'll opt for you-all-know-who. And the dream vacation with wifey would be at Thekkady. Anyone who has been there will agree with me that no other place can give you the combination of sheer romance and flowing nature that Thekkady has to offer.



I don't mean to berate foreign vacation spots but we have a goldmine of tourist spots and the country needs the tourists. A small request to everyone here. Next time you plan a foreign vacation, please cut down 10% of your iterenary and spend the money you are saving there on a small holiday at some Indian tourist spot. You'll do our country a whole lot of good with that.
