Read Deccan

by DQ » Wed Aug 11, 2004 5:50 am

Read todays Deccan :

VIPs, IAS and IPS officers applying for license.

IPS --- These are the guys fining others for licenseless travel.

Good this is the right step taken by the govt.

First get these things right and then the Helmet rule is justified.!!!

It doesnt mean anything. Everyone has a chauffer driven vehicle and most probably dont drive the vehicle. If they are applying for a licence now doesnt mean that they have been driving without licence till now.

Is it most probably or Most certainly ????

Did you read the paper ??

Deccan Chronicle wrote:About 20 per cent of the total 8,000-odd police force in the city have been driving without licence all these days.

So if it not the IAS officers then its the constables,Inspectors, SIs etc etc...or the drivers of these officers themselves who have been driving without licenses.[/quote]

Before implementing Helmet rule

by DQ » Wed Aug 11, 2004 8:22 am

Ridiculous.

The statement that I have repeated time and again. Before implementing helmet rule we need to improve.

1. The condition of our roads.

2. Correct driving sense.

3. Come heavy on offenders.

Image

With this how do you expect people to wear helmets an added burden ?

Though not comparative, the above was the state in 1947-60 in other parts of the globe

Image

If you need to bring about Helmet rule etc, first ensure that our roads reach atleast this stage.

So on you PROBABLE assumption others do not mean anything ?

Going by my past experience, I wont waste my energy trying to argue with you.

True

by DQ » Thu Aug 12, 2004 12:00 pm

I am not a grown up kid.

Guys you probably have never tested your engines on roads......Grow up ride bikes, then you can argue.

Any way,

Don't start that anyway, Who said Helmets will save lives. Cmon guys.

The greater danger is ppl not following road rules.

Road rules are not followed because,

1. No stringent rules to punish licenseless drivers.

2. The Driving test is a farce. It needs to be tougher, all aspects of driving need to be covered.

3. People involved in rash and negligent driving should be pulled of roads for a couple of yesrs.

Once all this is improved, Helmet rule is justified. Until then it is just a money spinning scheme!!! PLAIN AND SIMPLE.

The govt should look at where to employ their resources rather then tax the people with another burden!!!

Resolve this first!!! Helmet is justified then :-)

Hey guys, sorry to butt in, but need some info.

As of now, what are the ACTUAL LAWS concerning this issue?

1. Is it compulsory for pillion riders as well as drivers to wear a helmet?

2. What is the fine that can be imposed?

Asking coz someone I know has to make a speech and they asked me to get this info......thanks in advance

In kolkatta, even bicycle riders should wear helmets, but those helmets are stylish like the hemets in sunny ad. Bangla chics look droolicious in those helmets :D

i drive enticer so a non-ordinary helmet will go great.

My company has a kinda rule - no helmet no driving or parking of the two wheeler within the campus! they won't even allow the vehicle inside.

no need of a Ninja....its just flashy...no added value...
go for a good Studds or Volga helmets between 700-850....they'll do fine.
