So what do you guys think, do a large percentage of Indians drink, and is it more popular in some regions than others? (obviously not popular in Gujerat, they're dry, right?)

indians drink in every corner of india...including 'dry' Gujarat....except that some do openly and some in the closet.marko wrote:i'm curious about this, as my experience is a much smaller proportion of Indians drink alcohol than people in most western countries. This is based on 6 months in the south, and meeting lots of guys through my company who don't drink. I think i've only met 1 Indian woman who drinks in all that time.

dude, when u consider the population of India, the small percentage of drinkers will turn out to be massive when compared to the western countries.. Drunk drivers are a hazard everywhere man, doesnt matter how many are on the roads.. here, the biggest problem is with the transportation ppl, truck drivers are usually loaded at nights causing quite a high number of fatal accidents on the highways..

Four good reasons why we(people) frown upon drinking as compared to GODs...Lucifer wrote:Not just somras, CAD. It is also called Madira - in fact I wonder why people frown on mortals when they drink while the Gods seem to do it everyday in their court with the courtesans dancing!
