The UNDP (United Nations Development Programme) ... carried out an annual study.. the results came out yesterday.

The "BEST PLACES TO LIVE" in the world are:

1) Norway

2) Sweden

3) Australia

4) Canada

The top asian country is Japan at #60. Singapore came around 90th on this list, and Malaysia 120th.

Ive heard Canada is a great place to live. If I dont move back to Hyd, Canada would be my next choice. But still, I'd rather come back home.

UAE (incl. Dubai) #49

China #94

India #127

Pakistan #142

the reason why India ranks low on this list is because the GDP of the nation is divided by its population to obtain this index. our one billion people weigh us down!

Amrika is number 8?!!!! *blech*

Nothing like good ol' India though, with its highs and lows, positives and negatives.

everyone heads to the USA because its one of the top English speaking countries in the world. the quality of education, the value of the US Dollar, and the "land of the free" concept appeals to immigrants. people dont go to Norway, Sweden or Japan because English is not the official language in these countries.

PS: dont trust surveys blindly

first of all, its not a survey like an opinion poll which a few random people answer. this is a report the United Nations Development Programme. it uses the GDP of a country and divides it by population, checks other factors like incidence of crime, literacy etc.... and then based on a point scale it hands out rankings.
