I want him on the team, he is an exceptional performer but he needs to get his priorities straight.

some of Us are losing focus.. and not seeing him for what he is. as i said earlier, a 10 point drop in average by him is enough for you to start hankering, but ganguly's total lack of application while batting (he got three lifes in his painstaking innings of 54 yesterday... and prior to that he had made only 180 runs in his previous 10 games). sehwag said he would make 200, and off he went for 0. and our laxman was done in by a simple ball.

i think every player should be in the team based on current form. sachin is putting the runs up there on the board, and if the axe has to fall on a Batsman, it would have to be ganguly.

laxman and sehwag are having a poor run but i know they'll bounce back soon. form is temporary, class is permanent. axing players and rotating the team constantly is unfair to the players and unhealthy for the team.

PS: sachin has his priorities in the right place. sehwag was fielding lazily against UAE yest coz we were on the way to victory... but sachin ran hard and also bowled us to a faster victory through his 3 wickets. (kumble and zaheer werent able to snap up the tail-enders).

according to me every player in the team is giving 100% (dravid 200%). i'm a fan of all our batsmen from sehwag to kaif, and the quicks from pathan to nehra.

but.... if i wanted someone from our One Day team to "sit on the bench", it would be Ganguly and Zaheer. they've been doing badly since such a loooong time!

i disagree with you here, rainie. Maybe Zaheer can sit out a match but definitely not Ganguly. He is the very back-bone of the team, he inspires the younger players, i.e. Yuvraj, Harbhajan etc. 2 perform well. Therefore even though he doesn't perform well with the bat, his very presence makes him an indispenseble part of the team.

You guys are getting this all wrong.. I want sachin to be there. I like the way he plays. I beleive he does inspire people to perfom better. He has been a Key to India's success. He is awesome on and off the field.

I think the guy is just too stressed or maybe he isnt. I dont know cricket like the rest of you.. but maybe we should give him a choice.. ask him does he want a break.. if he opts for one; let him say how many days and then let him come back. Thats it!

the indian team is playing after two months. what rest are u talking about? in fact, it is because of this long rest that they are not playing as well as they should be.

they are short of match practice. the more they play, they better they will get. the bowlers gave away too many runs in this match... even the UAE managed to bowl well against lanka (they gave them only 240).

as i have said earlier, ganguly's captaincy is not up to the mark, and his batting leaves a lot to be desired. he struggled to make 6 off 16 balls. same as parthiv.

dravid as usual keeps fighting. the blasters saching and sehwag are known for hitting the ball in the air -- saching got caught, sehwag was dropped when he was on 4. that is their job in the team, and players do get out in the process. the asia cup is not over yet, so hold yer horses.

true that ganguly inspires the team and has made yonug lads perform well.... but can he stay in the team even if he is out of form only on that account    ...his last good innings was in australia in the first test....he shud b rested...other batsmen can b tested in a couple of one dayers while he rests!

he is already over burdened. if he becomes the captain then he will not keep wickets, it will b too much for him...so i think he shld. stay as the deputy to ganguly.

ganguly, even though not in good form is the best person to lead the team. he`s been there for such a long time now.

Even I had a lot of respect for him earlier, but it vanished after the double century episode in Pak. The way he reacted was in no way professional and did not befit a player of his stature.
