Optimists view a half-filled cup as half full, while pessimists tend 2 view the same as half empty.



Most people think that an optimisitc view is intrinsically adaptive and rewarding, while a pessimistic view is inherently depressing and counter-productive.



But this may not be the case. False confidence and positive illusions may lead to defeat and danger, while a pessimisitic but realistic assessment of the situation may be wise and adaptive.

Thats why my vote was a 50:50 :D
Things are supposed to happen the way they happen. And the reason they happen the way the happen is because you try to make them happen in a certain way and may or may not be succesful.
