Hey you guys

whats up? how is everyone i bet they are tired, and annoyed by certain people on the road! Well 4 yrs ago i went back to Hyderabad! for my sisters wedding, and We went to pizza hut, to eat pizza, and lord behold they were people there eating pizza with their um..... FORKS AND KNIVES!!!! uhhhhhhh noo pizza is suppose to be eaten with hands, and since we all were from america, we were eating with our hands and all the people there we gawking and staring at us!!!! we were like ok!! But this was the Pizza Hut in Banjara Hills! i wonder how it is now its been almost 4 yrs and i miss it but i can't believe how people could eat pizza with forks and knives.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ah the joy of eating pizza with hands!!! but i have eaten pizza in india not in pizza hut but in some local bakery! It was totally different.. it was too sweet and NO CHESSEE AT ALLL!!!

Haha, thats funny. I heard from my cousin who visited recently that they went to a mexican place (in hyderabad) and he cracked up because people were eating tacos out of the shells and throwing away the actual taco! and the burritos were being aeten as though it were roti and saalan!! Just imagining it was hilarious.

Well...I am not aware of any rule that pizzas shldnt be eaten with forks and burritos shldnt be opened like chapatis.

People will eat whatever they wish to in whichever way they damn well please. The fast food places dont have any problems with that, why are u guys bitching abt it?

Dang Morpheus, would you relax for a split second?? Why are you getting your panties in a pretzel? Think about it, isnt it just too hilarious to see someone eating a burrito the wrong way, or eating the inside contents of a taco and throwing away the main part?? Dude, are you PMSing?

EXACTLY! One can eat in any damn way he wishes to. No one has the right to object are feel offended about it. Gawd.. how ppl make a big deal of petty things like this :roll:

Once i was enjoying my rice and dal, eating with my hand. This Frnd of mine from north comes and asks me, how cud u ppl eat with hands? SPoon use karona?

I was so damn pissed off.... I was like, first of all my hands are clean unlike yours.. and most importantly eating with spoon is not a mark of ones class either.. just dont _ make a big deal outta it.

I asked him a simple question... why do u eat rotis with ur hand, if u consider eating with hand is dirty... :roll:

Eventually i was supported by my Bihari Best friend.. :lol:

Biharis and Gultis share this habbit of eating lotsa rice with hand ..ofcourse apart frm the NAXAL problem... :evil:

Don't mean to offend anyone here, but what is the NRI bone with India anyway? When you guys are not in India all you can think of is this lovely country. And when you get back, you only see stuff like mosquitoes and garabage, and only drink bottled water???

The pizza and burrito bug just recently bit Hyderabad. So you cant hold it against them for the way they eat. A burrito looks like a dosa, so they think the obvious. I dont understand why they'd throw away the taco shell, but whatever. Maybe the person was on the Atkins diet. Who knows, right?

When I go out to eat, I eat everything with my fingers (fast food I mean), but steaks, rice, and salad are meant to be eaten with a fork and knife in America. See, when in Rome, do as the Romans do.

Yes, its funny...laugh your guts out and stop at that... you have no right whatsoever to ask them to stop eating pizzas and burritos just because you think that its not the 'right way'.
BTW, there is no such thing as right way of eating, its just convenience - convenient way of eating.
Moreover, right or wrong is relative. If everyone in India eats pizza's with forks, then thats the right way of eating pizza in india period.
Pls explain PMSing.

IMO pizza is eaten with hands cos you cant cut it with knife, it gets messy, but what if you can? Whats so wrong in eating with fork? Is you can eat salad with fork, eat chicken with fork and even rice, why not pizza?

Its not a sacrilege of the sacred pizza/burrito eating ritual is it?

I have seen americans eating dosas with fork! I found it funny, but I never felt that they shld stop eating dosas if they cant eat with hand.

I have also seen americans eating pizza with fork and knife, so there.

most of my videshi colleagues when they visit india, take to eating indian food with fingers, without fuss or discomfort. i have seen them eat spicy Andhra food (rice) with fingers and then lick the fingers clean...!

at the same time, Indian colleagues who have lived abroad for hardly two years make a fuss, demand forks n constantly crib about spicy food, water and pollution...and top it all up with bad accents.

How come people generalize everything?

In fast food joints,ofcourse you can use your hands for eating pizza but in classic restaurants you are supposed to cut anything daintily into little pieces before you consume it or run the risk of grossing your partner out.So, hey, table manners do vary with the kind of place you are in.

U are very well dressed, in a Saree (for women, ofcourse. dhoti and kurtha for men, maybe?) and all a la 'our' way, U go to a fine Italian Restaurant in San Francisco, order pizza U can damn well eat whichever way U wanna eat, one hand, both hands, fork and knife silverware/plasticware. Just about with whatever and make your signature, right there and the folks around you love your confidence and enjoy it and maybe even put ur picture in one of the local newpapers, if the journalist happens to be there.

I gotchha mine, the tomatoe paste on my nose and all with a smile . Its cute.

Chill out guys. Enjoy urselves. Its fun.

BTW also Respect urselves and ur roots, as Mayavi says, and others will follow suit. Its much more everlasting fun.
