You can get crab at the ex-fish canteen near tankbund (beside the AP Tourism office on the Hyd side). You can also buy crab(if u can cook it) at SEAP shop in Domalguda. I dunno about other sea food stores.

Thanks for the info. Buying crabs is tricky business because they have to be kept alive till just before being put in the cooking pot. And, killing a crab ain't something I have the nerve to do. Shall definitely check out the fish canteen though.

the SEAP shop had a sea-food restaurant. they used to served excellent fish n crab curries over there...very cheap too! sadly the place closed coz of the flyover

There used to be a Tiffin place near Secunderabad YMCA called Anand Bhavan.. mann they had the best Idli-vada-Sambar in town

I used to like Alex kitchen and nanking better than haiking.. especially thos drumsticks at nanking.. yummy



Irani chai at Blue sea along with Osmania bisket



biryani at bawarchi



there used to be a restaurant called Anupama near Ameerpet chowrastha.. they had very good chinese stuff



there used to be another chinese place above Midway bakery near panjagutta.. cannot remember the name now.. it used to be great too

Anand tiffin is still there, near Ajanta theater. are u refering to that?

IMO, the most heavenly Sambar-Idly/wada is available at the Windows restaurant in Cyber Towers. its not sweetish like in udupi joints...just the right level of spicyness. here, i must also add that other than tiffins, the rest of the menu there is terrible, as also the service.

nai he is talking abt anand bhavan. thats on RP road. its very old and serves only veg food. but some of the dishes are really good. the only thing i dont like abt it is the seating arrangement for the non AC section.

Upma is NEVER the best anywhere...

Somehow one gets to yowl / howl like Cats "Miaow", "Miaow" after going through the Anantanamas like "Upma", "Uppumao" and "Uppumavu". The Wheat Rava, Fine & Medium Sort, yields the Tasty & Nutritious "U" ... "Sooji' / Bombay Rava "Upma" of the Taj looks White, Smooth and "Tasty" but is not as Nutritious as the Wheat Rava "Upma".
