Yet another Olympics, yet another dismal performance

I wonder when will the day come when the Indian National Anthem will be recited in an olympic forum. Wish we could produce more sports persons. Well, we lost some good ones we produced because we do not respect them enuff.

the problem cannot be that the sportpersons are bad. we\'re just the same as anyone else. it\'s just that there is no govt support. too many politicians and selfish people who have nothing to do with sports are there in all the bodies.

On the contrary, I think it is public apathy. In the USA, the govt. does not sponsor the sports persons. In fact even their expenses are raised from people and corporations. How many people in India, go and watch a hockey match in a stadium? I think it has all the makings of an ideal spectator sport. Lasts only a couple of hours unlike cricket, can be played in the evenings or on weekends without hampering work. More public involvement brings more money into the game and more money brings more talent and results.
