I'd advise you to double check your political radar and sense of history. Firstly, why would any hindutvaadi types or for that matter, secular Hindus oppose a film on Christ? Do you know why some Jews are opposing the film? When you characterize Israel as a good friend, do you also think about the Palestinians and their long struggle for independence or do they just appear as "Arab terrorists" to your right wing sensibilities that also reveal a flawed uderstanding of Arabs? And, why does Israel become a good friend...just because it gives India spohisticiated defence technology? OR do you have any other reasons in mind?

BTW, the film has been pulverized for its anti-semitic sentiments, not surprisingly though, given Gibson's personal history which is steeped in the language of medieval Christian (Catholic, to be precise) fundamentalism, courtesy his father. He is the Mad Max of right wing christianity, if you will, but not of the evalengical kind. His answer to the question whether he is anti-semitic gives new meaning to the word, "convoluted." Gibson's tendency to flagellate himself in Lethal Weapon in which he goes nuts by physically hurting himself finds interesting parallels in gory and egregious violence that captures the final moments of Jesus.
