'Screen Flame...' was really in bad taste, forget being creative with words. Certain occassions still do call for sobriety.

I read about how somebody at a funeral prayer meeting had his mobile going off with a 'pretty woman' ring tone, but didn't switch it off as he thought his prayer would be interruted if he were to make the effort!

Another sensational news I read yesterday in TOI - something very important for world peave and racial equality - is that a British cop (read white) is striving for racial equality by having an extra marital affair with a married Indian lady (married a britisher and works for police dept) and the community is aghast.

Is that news worthy at all? Some dumbhead has an extra marital affair with an Indian and TOI thinks its news worthy as it indicates racial equality!

Welcome to the forum, Gost. I hope you have a good time
GOST wrote:its unfair to reject ToI just like that. Agreed, it resorts to needless sensationalism (Pakraman/"KARACHI CAPTURED") sometimes! But, there is a certain balance between style and content, that makes ToI work not only with me, but with several other millions.

ToI has become THE Masthead for millions of Indians! And, definitely those many Indians are not fools.

It is true that TOI is the largest selling English newspaper in the country. But that doesn't make it the best.

We have no real quarrels with the TOI, really. Different people have different tastes. What pains us is that TOI has deteriorated. People could enjoy Govinda; but would you really be happy if Amitabh or Sanjeev Kumar started acting like Govinda?

abt Mithun...he's a good actor stuck with wrong producers. very few main stream actors have won National Awards for acting more than once for genuinely perfect acting. These days he's the ONLY true raw action hero, and the fights in his films are actually entertaining in a brainless, physics defying sort of way, much like hollywood B-graders like XXX, the 80s Americn Ninja series, Chuck Norris films, innumerable nickel-dime Hong Kong flicks so on!

Mithunda Def. Rox, the same way as Rajnikanth and vijaykanth :D

By the way record says dat mithun da never lets his producer down, the producer supposedly recovers atleast the investment  Maybe cuz of "cyclestand" in theatres being full for all his movies :)

One day I met this guy from nigeria, who did his undergrad in saudi. I told him that I am from India and the first thing he asks me is abt the actor who is famous for his disco. I said its Mithun da and immediately he said "ah yes, mithun, he rocks!". He is a fan of Mithun chakravarty! Mithun is famous in Africa.
