A new forum for talking about the meet.



I had great fun...esp at New Yorker.

aaaah.. this is probably gonna be a lil' long..

nahaa-dho ke , i left for the meet @ 5.50 ..

reached the place without much trouble findin it, stood outside the buildin waitin for someone i knew to arrive.. 6.05 ..waitin , 6.10.. still waitin' ..

6.15 ..aah Mr.Justalittleunwell aka Ravi sir arrived n so we both went inside the shop .. 4 ppl were sittin in a corner includin an elderly gentleman.. i thought they were some other ppl n took the seat at another table, but JaLU seemed to think otherwise n as it turned out he was right.. i had my first intro with CtrlAltDel, Fiddler[I was outside, not l8], Akhilis2cool n Happy Hyderabadi .. n fullhydies kept pourin in at regular intervals, b4 long we had the pleasure of the company of Monalisa Smile [yes, one lady did show up!], Jasz, Black Wizard ...er.. im forgettin somebody ..sorry, bad memory.. + 2 guys who came along with Jasz.. n so the conversation flowed from casual intros, work, liquor , coffee obviously, martial arts , movies, music .. usual stuff.. which ran out even b4 the coffee came it took an eternity for the coffee's which everyone ordered to arrive.. impromptu conclusion being it was out-sourced to Coffee Day upstairs.. but one sip n that was negated.. C-Day has much better coffee.. amidst all this chatter, me n Jasz had our customary cd/vcd xchange ..ppl on the forum who couldnt make it were missed n ranted abt .. after an hour n half, Fiddler was the 1st guy to depart .. Me n black wizard left a few mins later.. somebody fill in as to what happened afterwards



For me, it was a good experience.. met a bunch of nice ppl who sometimes arent that nice on the boards.. j/k

here's what i thought abt ppl i met for the first time:



Happy Hyderabadi - Murthy sir.. what a pleasant surprise .. was kinda expectin to see a happy n content guy but was a lil to meet a retired but still Happy man .. my respect for u has doubled, sir



Fiddler - Irfan bhai, was xpectin to c u with ur guitar, didnt notice Ayesha outside.. but, gr8 meetin u, smart n quick witted, just as i xpected



CtrlAltDel - Anand saab ..again, wrong perceptions ..heh.. was xpectin to c a slim n trim guy with a moustache n huge specs.. but, my bhanja n guruji turned out to b some sort of a fitness freak.. btw, as ppl would've seen.. it was his Weddin Anniversary..so he was in a very good mood.. u didnt get ur family along, would've njoyed meetin em..



Monalisa Smile - Laksmiji, the only lady in the group.. cheers just for that!

infectious laughter n a smile that would give Monalisa herself bouts on envy



Akhils2cool - Akhil sir, turned out to b what i had expected.. calm, intelligent .. somwhat like me



that would abt sum it up.. rest all.. Jasz, black wizard, JALU.. i know u guys.. so let it come from someone else..



if i missed ne1, im sorry.. have that naggin feelin.. i forgot someone..



well, it was abt 7.45 when i left for home , had promised mom would take her out shoppin @ Lifestyle.. so went there, bought a coupla shirts.. for me n dad.. came back home.. had dinner.. thought abt writin this last nite, but then had second thoughts.. drank a glass of milk.. had 7Up @ 1am ..

blah blah blah... still reading?? hhhmmpffff

i and fidller made a guess after the we saw the bag. but yes it was a surprise to find a retiered happy hydi.

Ok heres my version. might b a touch too long but then, it deserves the lengthy discription.

till abt 5:15 i was surfing fullhyd. was waiting for the clock to strike 5:45 so that i could make a move. after a long wait it finally happened.



i didnt have a tough time finding the place. CAD and fiddler bhais instructions were perfect.

I went down the stairs and it was all empty...thankfully the waiter asked me whether i was from fullhyd...and i got in to meet Fiddler.



Irfan bahi: really cool. cooler than me



we talked for abt 10 mins and then we saw a big bag coming in, we guessed it would be HH and it was indeed him.



HH: surprise surprise. oldest most expirienced guy around. will make a good moderator



fiddler was messaging mona and assured us that she will turn up.



and then came CAD bhai, mona was not far behind and even as we were introducing ourselvs JLUW came with azazel. thodi he der mein JAS joined with his brother and the veteran Cracknut. at this point the place was full of full hydis. we were the only ones making noise, other that the wannabe dj cum manager of the coffee shop!!! the last one to join was black wizard, in true hydi style.



phir coffee order hui and the discussions started to flow. HH bhai was really quiet and observing everybody else. topics like mettel rock reggae r&b were out of my reach so i kept quiet and waited till something i could talk abt came around, like indian express, dhirubhai, hotels etc. same was the case with azazel, jas and black i guess. but there knowledge abt old english movies is terrific. they can do a phd in it



even as the discussions went along smoothly, Fiddler bhai ko ghar jaana pada. By then mona advised us to visit newyorker. then HH and black also left for home.



so we had to pay the bills. and it took us (7 of us) a good 10-15 mins to calculate kaun kitna pay karega. obviously, none of us was good at maths during school days.



JAS, Nut and azazel had to move but nevertheless they accompanied us to newyorker. after they left there were only four of us left at newyorker.

wondering what to do.



but mona came to our rescue. she had been there b`fore, she also had a discount card but it didnt work, as it was only for weekdays.



johnny bhai was really missing the party, he kept sms`ing CAD. we had a gr8 time taking him for a ride!!!



then came the al important question. what to order. here agn mona took over. we ordered a russian salad and american style bhajjiyan whcih they call rings. salad was cool. but the best dish was yet to be served.



MLS orderd a Browny, its an ice cream sizzler. absolutely sensational. those who left early missed a really good treat, not to mention those who didnt turnup at all



and then came the bill, again. but this time we managed to settle it in kwik time. fewer brains at work u c



uske baad we came out and said bye bye and left for our respective homes.



so that was my version. hey wake up wake up man..........s***

It was a good evening. First time i'm doing something like this :) I enjoyed the company of all who came. Thank you folks for the pleasant experience. Hope we could continue this friendship, and also get to meet more of the FH folks, in future meets.

I have been kicking myself. That's about the only thing I could do. I was planning to be there, but then had to get back to work - on a Saturday evening at that My boss wanted me to work on a RFP

Thank You A2C for Your Report on the Meet! I am amazed always at the wide range of interests and zest for life in the Younger People ... One can get a Fair Idea of the Concept of Multi-Tasking and Parallel Processing wrt Computers by observing the Younger Generation. I wish the Younger Members of FH all the Best!

DAMN i missed the meet

Nice to read about the meet though.. good account azazel and akhil...

As it happened in the first meet, Fiddler was the first to arrive and first to leave...

and akhil bhai, thnx for taking me on a ride.. i cud guess u were taking me one one... but then thot lemme give a shot no probs the 3rd FH meet shud be oprganisd when m in hyd plsssssssss so dat even the "deserving" turns up

ok guys...heres my account...no...i wont bore u all again with who was there and when....

but the hi-lites of the meet:

1) meeting the guys n the lady first time (except for fiddler)

2) lesser ackward silences unlike the first meet! but i think most of the talking was done by Fiddler, Jasz, Monalisa, Akhil n I...

3) a pleasent surprise to see Happy Hyderabadi...someone from a generation whom we generally dont associate with computers, forget the internet! there should be more people like him! (but now, i have to watch my language...! expect to see lots of #$#$# or ^&$$ now!!! )

4) the yakking....varied topics....and stuff....

5) i discovered how a Cappucino ought NOT taste...i think Fiddler wud second that...he had a coffee that smelt like banana....which was supposed to be cappucino with non-alchoholic rum

6) i discover how NOT to make a veg sandwich

7) the discovery that i am not the only one weak in arithmetic

8] discovered a really fab sinful brownie sizzler, thanks to monalisa! I wanna have it again....mmmmmm....(to hell with my 'Battle of the Bulge', that i seem to be winning now!)

9) maamujaan Azazel gave me a copy of Clockwork Orange, a movie i always wanted to see....thanX man! btw, the real Azazel is completely different from the one on the forum! he seems to be a calm, cool n reserved person, with a hidden streak of humour! i expected a loud, funny Govinda (just kidding man!).

10) presence of a lady...never expected to see one, going by the first meet! thanQ Monalisa!



the next meet shud have better attendence, esp from ladies....

and somebody PLEEEASE GET YOUR DIGITAL CAMERA...IF U GOT ONE...

i wish i at least got my SLR.
