EMINEM

by GUS » Thu Apr 01, 2004 12:31 pm

There is a lot of controversy surrounding this rapper... What is it and why do so many people hate him, but others like him?

I would appreciate an FYI

Thanks!

All though Explicit his lyrics are usually very intelligent. Most rappers went the typical 'gangsta' way and used lot of cuss words which did not connect. Eminem has used these in a rather communicative way. Thats why he is good in a bad way!

I started a thread on him here : http://www.fullhyderabad.com/discussion ... highlight=

i am a fan of Rap/R&B/HipHop and i think Eminem is now one of the best in this form of music. as vivek says his lyrics might be peppered with explicit cuss words, but the songs always have a philosophical meaning. he's not typical gangsta rapper.

as a white "minority" in black dominated world of Rap, he made his mark and has attracted many white youths towards the fabulous beats of rap music.

if not for his explicit lyrics, i'd have put his songs on par with veteran MC Hammer's "clean" rap.

Do not miss Eminem's film "8 Mile". u can see the other facet of his personality: a reasonably good actor!

Dudes....first off...agree with azazel that Eminem is overhyped and all that jazz.

Agree with Azazel that 2pac is da best, but i have to suggest to everybody NWA's music....original gangsta rap with socially aware lyrics.

What made me take to listening to Eminem is the emotion that he puts into his rendering. Before this man, I found rap boring because there was nothing in it that appealed to me. Maybe it's a little cliched, but it seems to me that Eminem's music comes straight from the heart...

I like the fact that he can be really funny at times, and that he tries to subtly put accross a message in most of his numbers.

My faves:

1) Without Me

2) Lose Yourself

3) Kids

4) Stan (this one really scrambled my brain when I first heard it!)
