dat's right! Bullets the king! right from the original standard version to recent Thunderbird!

if not for pressure from my wife n mom, i'd've gone for a Thunderbird or Eleminator instead of the car i have today (no complaints tho...cars good for families esp with a baby).

nothing can beat pleasure and freedom of riding a metal monster like Bullet, Pulsar, Eliminator or even the defunct Shogun and Yezdi/Jawa.

but on long distance jaunts, u'd strain your back.

have u ridden the awesome Yamaha Rajdoot RD350 (the miserable-fuel-economy fame)...? becoz of its speed, and resultant accidents, it was nicknamed the "YamRaj".

I've been riding a Kinetic ever since I was 13. But I do give a second look to a sleek looking bike. When I did a bit of raving about the 'Eliminator' to a guy friend, it was brushed aside as 'woh toh choti si bike hai'. :!:

My Kinetic doesn't allow me to go beyond 70 and when I see ppl on other bikes whizzing past, I wish they'd make something faster for the ladies. Yaar Sunny/Scooty ki baat mat karo. Me thinks they are slightly upgraded versions of the bicycle!! :D Yeah, yeah thats condescension for u!! ;-)

Yup, dear fellow-Annite, it is.

This is a copy-paste job:

Fatwa: This is a legal opinion issued by a qualified Muslim scholar (alim, pl. ulama) on matters of religious belief and practice. In order to issue a legitimate fatwa one must attain certain rigorous levels of religious and legal prowess. Unless someone has the authority to do so, a fatwa is not valid or legitimate. (Throughout history, people have posed questions of a religious matter to local scholars for their opinion. The fatwa of a scholar is not legally binding and consequently, people often obtained different fatwas from different scholars (like getting a second opinion).

http://www.omarfoundation.org/Culture/E ... ossary.htm

Remember, Salman Rushdie was slapped with a fatwa after his 'Satanic Verses' ?

and he deserves it for writing such stuff. I read three pages and didnt understand a single word :x Will try again this week end, If I dont find it interesteing I will declare a second fatwa on behalf of FMCOFHB.

Back to bikes, my vote is for the good 'ol chetak. :D There aint nothing like stopping on the road side and tilting it 45 to thevertical and kicking it to life. 10 rupayya ka gas (teen payant) dalwao aur pura city ghumo! Top speed of 80 KMPH, and my '87 model does 0 - 60 in 5 seconds, beat that! and the girls...they used to go crazy whenver I vroom around on my chetak.

You said it, man! Nothing beats the Enfields! I look for excuses to ride my Thunderbird :) Even when my Dad screams at me to take his car because of the traffic or the rain, my first choice is the love of my life: my silver Thunderbird. She's called Ayesha, btw :)

Hey, God's Gift, get yourself one, and join the Wanderers. Will be happy to intro you ;)

hey! the Enfield club is present in hydbad? r you n Ayesha members?

same here... in the last century when i went shopping for my first bike (after getting the first job), my eyes were on an Enfield Machismo. but my Evil HR Exec decided otherwise and refused to increase my pay.

i had to go get a KB 4S (i still have it!)...but no complaints...not much power (98cc/7.5 bhp) but astounding fuel efficiency (70-75 kmpl!) and very low maintainance cost...good for a low paid, over-exploited hard worker...

now when i can afford a thunderbird, my wife n mom vetoed it :( and made me go for a car.

Hey do you know that KB 4s has life? It has sense, it responds to touch! Whenever you are out of fuel and the gas station is just a few 100 feet away, you perform a Mouth-to-mouth resusication (on the gas tank) on a KB 4s and it will spring to life to cover the few 100 feet to reach the gas station. Isnt it amazing! Can the thunderbird do that?

Yep. Hyderabad's Bullet club is called the Wanderers. And Ayesha and I are DEFINITELY members! Did anyone catch our Anniv ride on the 28th? 54 Enfields rode around the city in a two-abreast formation, from KBR Park to Necklace Road to Thrimulgherry to 99Mhz (Begumpet). Incredible experience!!

Dunno, Mayavi. With a 14.25 litre tank on a bike that give between 35 and 40 kmpl, and a reserve of 1.25 litres, I've never run out of gas. I have this trick I use with the tripmeter: I turn it to zero when I hit reserve, so I know exactly how many km I can go without running out of gas. That way I know how long I can afford to delay tanking up. But I've heard a friend talk about using the same technique on his Lightning 350 (the fore-runner of the Thunderbird) and it got him from the LV Prasad Eye Hospital to the Jubilee Hills Checkpost, and that's a kilometer.

this is right...i've done it myself once! my bike ran out of fuel near policelines signal after airport. i gave it a shake, then blew into the tank and it ran upto the fuel stn at the paradise signals...cool!
