F1 Race in HYderabad

Another event in the most happening city in the world.

<br>An F1 Grand Prix race will be held in Hyderabad in 2007, it has been tentatively decided. State government officials clinched the deal after long negotiations with F1 chief Bernie Ecclestone.

<br>Finance minister Y. Ramakrishnudu, who heads a cabinet sub-committee on the project, said the F1 boss made it clear that he preferred Hyderabad over other venues in Karnataka and Maharashtra.

<br>Official sources said the Hyderabad F1 race, named the Indian Grand Prix,would be part of the F1 championship. According to the deal, Hyderabad will stage the race for seven years. The final agreement is yet to be signed.

It is yet to be decided. We cannot be sure of it. It happened once in Calcutta. It was at this stage, they dropped the idea of helding F1 race there. Mumbai is ruled out bcoz of its distance from the Airport to the race ground. Delhi is a hub of traffic. Karnataka is never ruled out. Its just the media that hypes. Its International Airport is already under development. It has more accomodation facilities and better infrastructure than Hyd. Everything depends on what will be the outcome of our elections. Hyderabad does not have an international airport, accomodation for 50 thousand big shots in 7 Stars, sponsors at an annual cost of 100 crores and still they cant use their name on the banners. It is not bcoz of anyone\'s big efforts the F1 authorities wanted to hold F1 in India. Its their basic Idea of pushing the game into Asian countries. Chinese Grand Prix is going to start on 7th. If they start one in India, they feel the European game can acquire half of the globe. It is not a joke. A dream if becomes reality, Hyderabad is one of the hottest cities in the world.

I too wonder will this dream ever come true.



It would be just great to watch those extreme beauties zipping past us in a fraction of a second with that roar of those engine's. Man this is going to be great.



But will the Indian govt be able to cope up with Bernie's demands. Will govt be able to build the number of 5star hotels stated by Bernie in the specified time.



I just hope that Chandrababu Naidu just make this dream come true.

Good news guys F1 is staying wit Hyderabad. Mumbai just cant beat it at anything. F1 supremo himself sent a letter 2 AP saying that talks were on only with Hyderabad and Sushil Kumar Shinde was just making bogus claims about the mega venture going 2 mumbai (the cheapskate).
