You have raised an interesting point here - and let me answer the same by saying 'Yes' and 'No' both.



Yes, because the direct marketing industry is inherently based on the model used by the leaders, Amway (and their online version, Quixtar).



No, because, the way HLL has approached this market is very different from the Amway model (i studied both before settling for HLL). The major one being the prices for the goods being offered - the Amway products are a lot costlier (and you don't have a brand name to attach it with, unlike HLL).



Add to that the lower set up cost for the HLL Network and their zeal to be number one in this business (hope you are aware of their struggle with Colgate Palmolive for the toothpaste market, you would understand what i am trying to say here)... and you know why you and i should be in this business (and not standing at the sidelines)

DON'T take up Amway coz my mum had taken it up and every1 she approached said they were already dealers themselves. Amway is quite old, i think it launched in 1998 or 1999 in India and the ppl who became members at that time are reaping the profits now. There is no sense in joining now coz u will only b wasting ure time and money(Starter Pack is Rs. 4400/- )

if u enjoy being surrounded by friends n relatives stay away frm all these things...once u become a member...everyone wud pretend not to know u and wud quicky vanish as soon as u enter a room!



but seriously, these r good LONG TERM investments, but as i said before u'll turn into an insufferable bore who wud try to sell your products even in funerals...! ...trust me i've seen this happen to normally nice n sensible people!

Exactly my view. All this is just a way 2 lose ure cash and time. Anyway everyone has their own opinion. But remember join only if u have good convincing powers otherwise u will not go anywhere with it.
