In Yesterdays test match and day before match Dravid, Lakshman and Agarkar both of them proved to be the Hero\'s of the Indian Cricket team. Any more comments from your side?

i am terribly disappointed by almost a lack of mention of laxmans contribution to the win. i find more mention of sachins 37 than laxmans quick fire 32. if sachin contributed with wickets, laxmans 148 in the first innings was as critical as dravids 233. and i think it would have been different had laxman stayed on till the last ball yesterday.

Yes. I am also terribly disappointed with the hype arround Sachin\'s Contribution.

But remember the shot of Sachin, padding out a stright delivery And getting out. A horrible shot taking the Circumstances.

If Lakshman comes & plays that crucial Inniings again in the second Innings , we might have lost this match like what we did a number of times in the past.

Dont mention names here.
Its a team effort.
Everybody contributed here.
Sehwag 47 & 48 in two innings. Superb catching.
Aakash Chopra\'s fileding.
Dravid\'s MArathon Innings.
Sachin\'s Bowling. Crucial 2 wickets.
Saurav\'s Captaincy & his support to the young boys
Laxman\'s two innings batting.
Parthiv - Keeping , Need to improve still.
Agarkar- Excellent bowling in the second innings.
Pathan - MAy not got many wickets. Bowled superbly.
Kumble- Rapped up the tail in the first innings when Aus going for over 600 runs.
Nehra - Unluckuy, Bowled extreemy well in the second innings.

This is Team India & we should appreciate it.

Sanjeev, Its too early to say about the final outcome of the series. But the series now becoming interesting. I always beleived that INdia is number two best team in the world. I dont beleive these test rankings & all other stuff.
We know we have 5 world clas batsmen , 3 top fast bolwers & one top spinner. All needed is self-beleif & we know now Indian team got that by this win.

But Now Australia should know its not that easy. But they will come back very hard at us. Next test\'s first day is very very important. If we can take this win & celebrations out of us & can perform well on December 26th , then we can predict the final outcome.

Everybody is talking about Dravid\'s batting. But While his batting is the talk of town, I think it was his catch of Damien Martyn on the fourth afternoon which set up the game for India.
Martyn and Waugh had laid the basis of what appeared to be a big stand, recovery was well and truly underway when Dravid stuck his hand out and caught Martyn in the slips.

There are moments in a Test, certain twists and turns, which shift the balance. It was one such moment, to be followed up with the catch of Stephen Waugh.

There is no need to bring Sachin Tendulkar into equation and begin comparisons between him and Dravid. For me, Tendulkar has always been the man towards whom Indian cricket has turned to quite so often in the past. Dravid had been solid but an unsung hero. Only now he is coming onto his own. He nearly never lets you down and the series has begun brilliantly for him.

Well Done Great Wall Of India.

The outcome of the Adielade Test proves that no matter how good you may be doing, never get too ambitious. The Aussies have gone out of their way to prove before the world their superiority over other cricket nations what with forcing plaerys like the Waughs to retire prematurely.Australia simply don\'t have the bowlers to bowl a good team out once they see McGrath and Warne retire.
They have been trying to set examples for others but in doing so,they\'ve gone way too far.I think the great Aussie age is coming to an end.In the coming years, its going to be teams like India,Pakistan and New Zealand who will give them a run for their money.

Any team will face this problem of generation change. West Indies dominated the Cricket world for 10 years in 1970s & then with the retirements of the greats like Layod,Richards, Walsh, Ambrose etc, they were turned into an ordinary team which lost 30 of their last 35 test matches.

Australia will definitely face the same. With the retirement of Steve waugh, MAcgrath,Warne,Gilepse,Hayden(all are 30+ now) this Australian team will be turned into an ordinary team.

This is also an eye opener for Indian Team selectors when we want to look ahead. The big 4 are in their early 30s & its the high time for the selectors to plan a long-term strategy & find out players who can replace these players without any problems.

But we are in right track for this one. Already we have seen Sehwag,Yuvraj,Kaif stepping into these 4 big boy\'s shoes. Also we have seen Zaheer taking the place of Srinath, Harbhazan replacing Kumble. So its a good future team for India whch will dominate the cricket world in the enxt 10 years.

the outcome of the test series is still wide open. if our indian team lacks something its consistency. i hope they dont get carried away, complacent and lose the initiative. australia is a team with tenacity and are bound to go all out (do wish they GET all out cheaply) with all canons firing. and while i wouldnt want to take anything away from the indian team, it should be kept in mind that they (australia) are missing match winners like McGrath and Brett Lee out. and finally, i do agree it was a team effort. but i hate the hype surrounding the \"greatest batsmen in the world\".

We ned not worry and think much about whether they are fo full strength or palying with full strength. Full or half its the final Australia Eleven.

If we want to talk about full or half strength.
Please rememebr that when we toured Australia last time, it is 1/4 Indian team. Only Rahul,Sachin & ganguly in the team. No Azhar, No jadeja, No srinath, no kumble.

Rememebr that team Kanetkar batted at number four, Jacob Martin at number five, Robin Singh at six. and then in the bolwing Abhay Kuruvilla, Harwinder singh are the main bowlwers. No history book says you its not the full strength Team. The score book says India Lost by 4-0.

So dont worry much about the strength of the teams. Finally what matters is who won.....

Hello every 1,
Therez No doubt that INDIA played really well , But dunn forget the world champions bowling attack is less effective therez lack of Lee, Mc grath& Warne .This win cud hav been more tasteful if these world class bowlers were present.
Full marks to Dravid & Laxman who hav became the back bone of the Indian Test team .
Frm my side i think the stylish Hyderabadi Laxman has been superb coz of his supportive effort and his presence made Dravid more comfortable at the crease.
Well done Laxman our Hyderabad is proud of U.

saradhi, as i mentioned, i am not taking away anything from the indian win. all i want to convey is some papers already talk of us being #1 if we can beat australia again and win the series. so thinking of being #1 just bcos we won a match on a good day for us and a bad day for them, doesnt make us the world champions. if u look at the australian record, their consistent wins talk for them. and i dont want us to raise our expectations (some papers claim indian cricket has come of age). i think we have to wait and watch how the team performs in the rest of the series. will they perform consistently (doesnt mean they have to win all the matches). how will indian batsmen respond to brett lee when he joins their attach in the next match. i am not being cynical. just being cautious. would be great if india could repeat their winning performance though.. good luck to the team.

I completely agree with you. The press in India is something not matured enough. They write a lot of non-sense if someone doesnt play well for two matches no matter how many years he played extreemly well.

This is the press which scolded all our team members just 6 months back when they havent played well in World Cup aginst India in their leuge match.

All rubbish. Too much critisism & too much priase is always dangerous.

India team is a long way to match the Australians & progress cant be achieved over night.
Auastralia also came to this stage after a long long time.

Before 1987 World Cup, Aus team is nothing, but that developed a lot after 1987.
So for us also , it takes time.
We need to play consistent good cricket. Good cricket is not all about winning. Showing positiveness, courage, competetiveness are the characteristics of a good team.
Success is not the key to happiness. Happiness is the key to success.
