A Question for the Ladies

by Used&Confused » Wed Oct 15, 2003 2:29 pm

This goes out from all the confused men out there: What is it you ladies actually want in a man? Women say they want sweet, sensitive, understanding guys and when they find one, start using him as a doormat because they think he\'s weak, and finally they decide they want a strong man who\'ll control them and tell them what to do. I know I\'m asking you ladies to give up your \'feminine mystery\', but what is it that you really want?

I see that, either no woman is willing to give up her most potent weapon, or no man is man enough to admit that he\'s as confused. I\'m disappointed.

They don\'t know what they want. You have to treat them as confused characters. You tried to understand them and the result - character swapped and you are confused and they look very strong to you now. Experience from observation.

oneOmore thing. your board says: Question for ladies. Why do you expect men to answer? I am a male but couldn\'t stop myself looking at your frustration.

Point taken. My question is basically for the ladies, but the gentlemen are welcome to post their opinions as well. I assumed that curious people like you would also have something to say. Boards are meant for discussion, after all.

Hi, you\'ve mentioned \'for the Ladies\' like as if these Boards are flooded with messages from the fairer sex! What were you expecting? A wave of messages? I could start whining about the severe dearth of female participation on these Boards, but I\'ll leave it for another day! If you are asking me about the \'dream-guy\' sort then well he should be mentally stimulating, have a sense of humour, the 3 Ms (Money, Mansion and a Mercedes), he should be OK to look at... I could go on and on! But seriously, a guy should just be himself. Nothing puts us off more than pretence/massive ego/insensitivity to another human being. Dominating behaviour is a strict no-no too. Hey, as far as the \"sweet, understanding\" bit is concerned, why only women, wouldn\'t you, as a guy, want a gf/wife who is sweet and understanding? That\'s a human need and it\'s not restricted to any gender.

U & C asked, what \'ladies \' would want in a guy. I can\'t speak for the entire female community, can I? The first part of my post was said in jest. The second part (read the qualities) was said with the question in mind. What is so \'hot airish\' about the whole thing?

A Question for the Ladies

Hey Air, I thought most women thought like you did, until I realised that women have a sort of limited tolerance as far as niceness is concerened. It seems there\'s such a thing as being \'too nice\'. Nice guys seem to get taken for granted quite often. Well, I guess nice people get taken for granted, irrespective of sex. What I mean is that I\'ve seen women go all gooey and mushy over guys who\'re sweet, and then ultimately get bored and end up either using him as a doormat, or having a low opinion of him because they think he\'s weak.

Hi U & C, Yeah being taken for granted bcoz u r nice to ppl, must make u feel lousy. I\'ve seen it happen too. Girls/Ppl who treat u with indifference just bcoz u r nice to them are not worth it. I read this somewhere, sometime, \"Nobody can make u feel inferior without your consent\". In this case, \"Nobody can make you feel like a Door-mat without your consent\". A million ppl will have a million opinions about you. What matters at the end of the day is how u feel about yourself. If your conscience is clear, then u shouldn\'t worry about ppl like these. Remember, it takes all kinds to make the world. Good luck!

A Question for the Ladies

by now 15 yr olds\' mom » Sat Oct 25, 2003 8:11 pm

Hey, UC, any person would want their partner/spouse to be \'balanced\'. Somebody is too sweet, a doormat, does not stand by his/her own convictions it is yuccky. Its the same when the person comes out too strongly , come-what-may,-I-will-not-budge attitude, it is yuccky too. So \'balance\' is the key word, UC. This has nothing to do with a female or a male.
Though I being a mature-grown-up-educated woman, believe in this aspect of NATURE..: being feminine for a woman is just as beautiful as being masculine for a man. Let us be what we are made for by nature: nurturer and provider/protector.
Incidentally, as the young girls and boys grow, they are \'learning\' to get to know what they are and what they want. It is just as much of a discovery about themselves as it is to another person. They get to be matured over a period of time UC.. and that learning process continues to be there in a person until his last day, I guess. Be kind to yourselves and enjoy the process. Dont find fault with the other sex. Both of you out there..

I just want to share my experience...dont want to comment...

by Women/Ladies are confused??? » Wed Jan 07, 2004 4:54 pm

U & C, I read all the messgaes, I want to add some thing. But, its truely my experience. I dont want to comment generally about all the ladies or women in this world, As of me, Ladies/Guls/Womens are really confused objects and they make men confuse. They dont know what they want. They definitely want something and after getting that they never realize that they got what they want, they will be in a mindset that, they have not yet got what they want...by just ignoring the one they already got (thats what you mean as doormats i think).

And i observed mostly, their needs/wants will change day by day and most of the time sec by sec. That is why, i can tell all males one thing, dont change yourself for getting attention of one lady or gul, you dont get anything except pain. Be as u are, if they want you or dont want you.

If you want to change for yourself do it, but dont do it for some other gender's attention.
