The fullhyd.com Revamp Project - Help create the most compre

fullhyd.com is changing.
 

 
Over several months, several people have written to us, both through these forums and directly, about various improvements that they wish to see on the site. And we are making sure that we meet just EVERY one of them.
 

 
fullhyd.com is being revamped with the following objectives:
 

 
1. Be the greatest directory of Hyderabad resources ever, with a simple benchmark - 90% of the times, people should find what they are searching for. That means, of all search requests that the site receives every day (i. e. searches relevant to Hyderabad and Secunderabad, and for stuff that is public domain information that can be expected to be found on a city guide), 90% should throw up VALID and useful results.
 

 
2. Be a vibrant showcase, everyday, of events, sales, entertainment and life in the city, helping people know what\'s happening in their neighbourhood and helping them plan their evenings, their weekends and their shopping.
 

 
3. Helping tourists and people new to town find their way around through useful and well-written articles.
 

 
4. Help residents get in touch with each other through state-of-the-art community features like discussions, personals, classifieds, matrimonials, chat, blogs etc.
 

 
5. Entertain users through great quality editorial content with new stuff every hour.
 

 
As part of creating a massive and comprehensive directory, we are creating the most comprehensive Yellow Pages anywhere on earth, for Hyderabad. These will go far beyond normal Yellow Pages in terms of information provided. We will visit each lane and gully in town personally, and give comprehensive information about each place listed on the site, more than even the most ambitious user would expect to find.
 

 
For this, we need a lot of help (paid, of course!). We need people who know at least one area of the city thoroughly (especially ones who know the old city), and who can spend 4-5 hours a day for 4-5 days to help us with that area. It\'s a simple job and needs very little time as we said above, but involves some traveling - you need to have a vehicle for this time.
 

 
But more importantly, it will be your contribution to making your city useful for millions of people forever. fullhyd.com is a completely free service, and it will be your effort in making it even more useful. It will be a way for you of priding yourself upon the fact that you made a lasting contribution for millions of people who stay within a few kilometers of you. How many people have had the privilege of giving anyting back to the city that gave them all their memories?
 

 
For your effort you will get paid decently, and will get a certificate stating that you worked on the most comprehensive Hyderabad directory project of all time.
 

 
But more importantly, we will PROMINENTLY list on the site, forever, the people who contributed to this effort. fullhyd.com is one of the top 3 city guides in the country and the new version will put it right at the top in less than 6 months. And we\'ll make sure you are known as one of the persons who made it happen. All we need is a maximum of 20 hours of your time spread out over a week to 10 days. And like we said, we are paying.

I have enjoyed a lot going through the movie reviews, participating in the discussion boards, finding some good netpals and so many other things on fullhyd.com. Nice to know things will be improving soon. My humble advice is to organize a group of angels who will volunteer for social service (non-political). This will do wonders especially for the old city area helping the minorities to gain quality education and find space in the mainstream thus boosting their confidence level and becoming a part of a developed India.
 
 
Is this one of the points in your considerations? I am sure there will be many people (NRIs) who support my views and may actively involve themselves in this cause.

I think Shaikh has a good idea. There could be a volunteer section in fullhyd.com site where institutions needing volunteers (e.g. NGOs, adult literacy programmes, child-care centres, homes for senior citizens, rural healthcare centres etc.) could post their requirements for volunteers, which could be responded to by people who want to offer help and assistance during their free time. I came across a similar site of a Canadian city (http://www.crnet.ca/english/volunteer/index.html) which can serve as a referance, and, of course, we could have something better. The concept is similar to a job site or a dating site whereby the site serves as a meeting place for parties needing each other.
