Dude, i think the reason for this is two fold. firstly, for the folks living in india, they find the \'hero\' to be a superman, a confident guy who can do anything he wants, so this provides an escapism for them for 3 hrs from their daily frustrations & imagine themselves in place of the hero. on the other hand, for the people living in abroad,, the following is the case: for the guys, there are pretty zinta, amisha & other gorgeous babes, for gals their is hrithik roshan & srk and for post-menopausal aunties, there are indian values (heroes & heroine obedient to their parents and all other crap), heavily embroidoried clothes, sweet songs and finally for the helpless bald father in the family, there is cherishing old homeland memories. landan dekha, paris dekha, aur dekha japan, ............yeh mera india......all happy
