I am a non-vegetarian, but I believe in killing animals only for food, NOT FOR CRUEL HUNTING. If we do that just for fun, we are worse than animals. What kind of enjoyment do we get by killing animals and then proudly displaying our trophies?

Do you want to be passive to injustice around us and point fingers to one person (Salman Khan) when others are committing such gross crimes?? And where is Maneka Gandhi? Sure, do you have any idea how many ants you kill daily while walking and how many plants you murder for your \"pure vegetarian food\"? There is a lot of difference between killing animals for food and killing them for fun and prestige.

I agree with what you are saying, no animal should be hunted for fun. But there is no point in singling out individuals. it\'s the system that needs to be blamed. You will always have individuals who, for sheer entertainment, would commit such henious crimes that undermine the fact that mankind has achieved so much. There are many game reserves in Africa where you could go for hunting, and even in US you are permitted to hunt during certain seasons, which people enjoy doing. If this is the attitude of the State, then people think it\'s ok to do it. Greenpeace and other nature and animal welfare associations much campaing against such policies. <br> If anyone advocates such gruesome sports then they must be challenged to be part of human hunting where they are pitted against lions, tigers, crocs... empty handed. If they survive then they can be permitted to hunt )

If you have no problem killing animals for food/FUN, you should not have a problem when they are hunted. ZC, I am a non-vegetarain to the core and would not care what I eat, but that does not give right to kill for fun. Prehistoric man used to hunt for food for he had no other means and he had very limited and undeveloped brain, so he could not rationalise. We have come a long way from there and have a very advance, developed brain which has some think called rational thinking and reasoning. Man has started to cultivate crops and rearing animals for food this he did for a reason, he realised \"wild\" animals are not meant to be food for humans and we don\'t form a part of their food chain.If you still think hunting wild animals for food/fun is ok, I think you must give up all the social habitats and social norms and start living in jungles, then no one will ever bother you with these kinds of boards ) Happy Jungle life.

Personal comments!! I have learnt a bit Ms. Pavani, over the years, not to stoop to a personal level. And when you buy an exotic dish, the animals/birds are actually hunted (now you would argue that that is for a living and not for food) but remember that some species are becoming extinct in your hunger for food/FUN (coz u would say,\"I HAD FUN\" after having a superb exotic non-veg dish at home or in a restaurant). When killing for food is okay for you guys, I suppose that making certain species extinct is also okay for you. I didn\'t condemn killing, I don\'t regret that animals are becoming extinct. If i did, i would have tasted certain dishes.

My friend bornhyderabadi, let us not reason with ZC. All he thinks of is killing and he takes into consideration only animals. To him, plants are not living beings and maybe even human life is taken in the form of ragging (see the other board on ragging).
