IT boom in hyderabad, more hype than reality

Hi,
I think IT boom that many boast of in hyderabad is just a eye wash. Emphasis had been given more to quantity then quality. Although there are several IT companies in Hyderabad, I don\'t think even 20% of employees in many big companies are from hyderabad.
Hyderabad is becomming more famous for call centers rather than genuine software development center. Inspite of getting all the boost from govt and big players like Microsoft,Infosys... its still lags far behind compared to Banglore,chennai and recent contenders like Gurgoan,pune....One must think why is it so and how we can improve the standards of professionals and companies alike, from Hyderabad.

Yes, I feel that Hyd must try to get more projects implemented in the city from big companies, like you said - but, responding to other statements of yours, I feel that more than 3/4th of the employees in all IT companies in Hyd are Hyderabadis, but when 9 out of 10 Indians working as IT professionals in foreign countries are Hyderabadis, it means most of our talent is going out, instead of being used in Hyd...

Friend presently IT is usefull and it is studied by students from highclass community. C.M in his recent statement he said it will take 2050 A.D for development of IT in our state. Means it will come into use for all classes people in that year. Till then lets dream

Yes it is just a hype when compared to Bangalore,Chennai or any other city. I bet u find plenty of hyderabaadis in mumbai,chennai & even Noida,pune cuz opportunities are less
 in hyd & ppl tend to go places. Every hyderabaadi wherever he is, would want to comeback & settle in hyd aka\' cyberabad
 This can happen only when more & more companies start investing here instead of blore or chennai like recent TCS worldwide biggest centre coming up in Madhapur & Kanbay investing 50crores at Manikonda. Trust somemore should setup their shop in hyd with such an outsourcing boom right now. The flip side of the coin is, though CM is able to attract CxO of every bluechip company, not many visits are fruitful...million dollar question is why? junta says rampant corruption by our govt. officials & so these folks prefer banglore imm...anyway hoping for good days2come with this boom time in IT after a recession for couple of yrs now.

yup.we should get more projects to be implemented in hyd but then again politricks should not come into picture
 which is not the case in the top5 companies of hyd...
 better left unsaid, want to conclude just by saying that
 we should be united always(may be a dream!!) just like other state ppl..but in my worldwide travel, never came across like that as they in constant bickerings & donot have constructive critisicm for each other so that both can grow together.anyway a longway to reach that dream !!

I was a marketing analyst for a hyd IT company, the only reason comes to my mind is that the CM was always pushing same group of people in front of the foreigners, this pissed them off probably. IT is a diversity oriented business, cannot be awarded to one clan.

I just wanted to tell the truth whay people go outside the india...
 
 One reason is dollar and apart from that because of few things mentioned as below...
 
 Myself and many friends find that we don\'t have any entertainment here. we are fully saturated with the movies, eating in restaurants , working in office etc....
 
 If we go out , we find high pollution and we don\'t feel like going outside ( I mean roaming in the city..)
 
 In foreign countries night clubs( strip club etc...) are allowed but in India these are not allowed and police raid the clubs if they find these activities...
 
 Water problem, sanitation problem, drinking problem, population problem etc...
 
 Life style, culture etc... is entirely different in foreign countries.. Here a lot of restrictions....
 
 Less greenary , Less gardens etc.. More population, more vehicle, more pollution etc... no proper planning..
