Afro Asian Games

Do u think Hyderabad can do it? A small update on the history - The Afro Asian Games have a long history without ever being conducted. Heres the list of postponements and cancellations:
1983 - Delhi,
1985 - Kuwait,
Nov 1991 - Delhi,
1999 - Pune,
Nov 1999 - Delhi,
Nov 2001 - Delhi,
Oct 2003 - Delhi,
And finally Oct-Nov 2003 - Hyderabad.

The Games have a certain kind of bad luck hovering around and true to its nature the venue got changed in the last minute to Hyderabad.

There are going to be more than 2000 athletes from all over asia and africa. There still needs to be more work done regarding hockey stadiums in hyderabad and lots of small stuf such as new scoreboards etc. And the major problem would be of accomodation. There are not enough star room accomodation for the players and visitors. And then the problem of safety with all those bombs exploding around the city. Can Hyderabad give life to these games?

Of what use are all these games? We spend so much money on these events when we dont have enough money to train our sportspersons and give them nutritious food and world class training?

Saw a tender for two Hockey Turfs - I think we are on track. If these games happen - it will change the face of Hyderabad. I promise.
