Neeraja\'s suggestion is good. The main problem is with the infrastructure development that the government has to focus on. I lived in the US for 2 years and am back for my vacation. I feel both happy and disappointed with the way things are right now. Happy for the the change in people\'s attitude and disappointed with the slow paced infrastructure development.
Since this board is about the traffic problems that Hyderabad city face right now let me concentrate on this issue.

As soon as I landed here I wondered and am still wondering what would happen to Hyderabad city after 5 years. With the haphazard growth in the city/vehicles and ineffective traffic management I can\'t stop imagining the fate of Hyderabad. Now I don\'t know about other cities but if they are worse than Hyderabad traffic then the question to those cities\' traffic authorities and government is \"What would happen to the cities\' traffic after 5 years?\"

One of the recurring deaths and accidents in the country is through traffic/road related accidents. Doesn\'t anyone care for human life? How can people be mum on the growing traffic related accidents? People can\'t be just oblivious unless it comes upon them. One should be prepared and well-equipped instead of crying over the spilt beans.

It is time to change the people\'s attitude. There should be some kind of harmonious growth. Right now China and India are two countries which are lucrative for investments and have a good scope for economic development. If we are not prepared to provide state if the art facilities there is no way India is ever going to be progressive. Today\'s young minds are tomorrow\'s leaders. People who are succeeding the already corrupted and \"say no to change\" minded people should not follow their predecessors instead should lead the country to new heights. When we have the potential to do so then why aren\'t we doing?

I have been straying from the original issue, but I believe the problem lies in the root, and unless we expose and get rid of the rotten root and replace it with a strong foundation, the tree won\'t be stable.

There will be a fairly simple solution for the traffic problem if studied and researched well. The traffic police should take the expertise of the academicians on these kind of issues. If you ask the traffic police department to solve the entire city\'s traffic problem, it would be quite unfair. It starts with identifying the traffic points where the problem is severe and providing alternative methods to decrease the influx of the traffic at those points - and also, the traffic police should be stricter and ethical on traffic rules defaulters.
The people should be educated well about the traffic rules. The License issuing department should be corruption-free first, and should introduce a written test on basic traffic rules before issuing the license. It is quite well known fact on how easy it is to get a license even without going to the license issuing department. This should be curtailed and the government should check the number of auto licenses given per year.

These are some of the suggestions that the government should be ready to implement immediately instead of getting approval from some minister since it is quite unlikely that the minister is well educated to understand the consequences of effective implementation.

I myself am a academician who would like to contribute to India\'s growth and welfare. I call one and all to join the movement to make India a progressive state where people live peacefully and risk free.
My motivation is Dr Kalam\'s speech in Hyderabad.
