Hey sleepo...many ppl consider us to be losers and of course the bands that we listen to. But what the hell, we love what we are right? agreed coldplay was probably the most original band last year and may be they even deserved the grammy for the album parachutes...but they are still what we might call soft rockers. Again i might clarify, i\'ve got muthin against them but hey you can\'t expect a metalhead to agree with bands like those...i mean bands like def leppard and aerosmith have sung much more better and melodic heartbreaking songs than them. Of course it breaks my heart to listen to such songs...hehehe..My place is more like \"get your gunn\" by the Goth god Manson or may be even the trooper (yeah there definitely is some melody in maiden somewhere with all that operatic howling and screaming crying guitars). Soft rock just ain\'t my cup of tea or loaf of bread or stick of butter or whatever..It\'s good to see that we are gaining support from more ppl..Anyway did anyone see Austin lose the match with The Rock?? That sucked..big time.

“You are getting angry for no reason!!” Thor, on a serious note, making explicit statements like ‘this rocks and that sucks’ is just a lame way to express your opinions. It is a telltale sign of your “metal” fortitude being weak and flaccid. Just for that, your metal penance will be to stay in your room, put on \"Screaming for Vengeance\" by Judas Priest and start cutting off your fingers one by one with a rusty spoon. Only then will SOME of your metalness return. Godspeed!

Ahhh, finally somebody with real taste! Iron Maiden is of course one of the greatest band that exists. Then again, this is common knowledge to anyone that \"feels the metal\". Sleepophile, I have the albums you need, but sadly sharing is not the order of the day for me.

\'Screamin\' for Vengeance\'... Nice song. Anyone ever noticed how alike Preist and Maiden are? Prefer Priest, though. They\'ve got a raw, yet mellower sound than Maiden. I think \'Electric Eye\' is pure genius! What say, rockers of the world?

Hey guys..I\'m really busy these days so i\'m posting like once in two days or something..I don\'t know what\'s come over me but lately i\'ve been downloading a lot of AC/DC mp3s. I had been listening to Audioslave lately and listening to them i thought they really derived heavily from AC/DC and my current love affair started off. Hey pope...look man, it\'s not like i\'m against you or something, but if i like something..it rocks for me. It\'s an opinion like i said someone always has to opine someway right? I never said your music tastes are bad or something OK if it wasn\'t, we wouldn\'t have been on this board anyway hehehe..nice advice about the fingers though. But i\'ve been working them to the bone nowadays anyway. Hey listen guys..anybody hear about a band called project 86? I heard about it on the net but don\'t know how good they are..and I don\'t want to run up my phone bill downloading some cr*p song so if anybody has heard of it, let me know dudes. All 4 Now!

Sleepophile, if you are genuinely interested in getting hold of music you can get in touch with me, might be able to help you out. Thor, AC/DC … huh ! I think, the CD’s are available at the stores…always a good thing to pick the original stuff. Crisp music and the neat artwork in the form of inlays always a great thing to look forward to. Besides, if anyone wants to get hold of anything metal - Original CD’s, books, t-shirts etc etc can mail me at popesmokesdope@occultmail.com. Those who offer laddus will be given preference along with free stickers …woohoo…!!!

Hey people! I\'m back. Sorry for disappearing for so long but i was busy with my site. Check it out : http://www.hackertechnologies.com . Finally it\'s done. Anyways I would have loved to buy shrink wrapped CDs from the store pal only, I can\'t afford more than two a month..Moreover leeching files from the net is much more fun! hehehe. Anybody watch MTV Jackass the Movie? It\'s really cool. These days the soundtracks are really bad...Nothing good seems to be coming except for T3. The soundtrack is expected to be good.

Whoa, that was some discussion :) Took me back to my college days. Interesting to read all that band-bashing and counter-bashing :) I'm still controlling my laughter about 'vedic metal', whatever it stands for :)

Frankly, as Fiddler says, why no action happening here? Is there a dearth of rockers in Hyd? Hopefully the 'Indian Ocean' show would turn out well.....

Yeah, was wondering why this board died out. This was one of my favourites, along with 'Poetry, Music and More'. P'raps revival could take place.

Hey, has anyone heard the new Def Lep album, 'X'? Wondering whether it's worth a buy... And I keep hearing stuff about Nickleback. Like the Americans would say: "Wassup with THAT??" Hyuk, hyuk hyuk.

What about this band called 'Audioslave'? I've heard one of their numbers some time back and quite liked it (can't remember the title though :) It's struck me as being alternative with a very metal sound, because even though the chord combinations were very unconventional, the level of distortion on the electric was heavy enough to be metal, as was the muting of the power chords - typically metal. Been wanting to get their album for a while, but haven't been able to zip down to the friendly neighbourhood music store.

Anybody has anything to say about 'Audioslave'? Or any other rock band for that matter. Or about rock music in general. Do NOT tell me rock is dead in Hyderabad, 'cause I refuse to believe it!

Fiddler :) Poor you, making a passionate appeal to save rock :) Reg. Audioslave, the other day I was in a chat room with a Sound Garden nick, and someone told me that they've regrouped, minus the lead guitarist, to form 'Audioslave'. However, a fan site has a different story to tell, as below:

In the spirit of the supergroups of the past, two of the most important bands of the nineties have pooled their talents to create a new band: AUDIOSLAVE. On November 19th, Epic Records will release AUDIOSLAVE's self-titled debut album featuring former lead singer/guitarist of Soundgarden, Chris Cornell (Vocals) and Rage Against The Machine's Tim Commerford (Bass), Tom Morello (Guitar), and Brad Wilk (Drums).

I guess the above must be correct.

Reg. other bands, I must confess that i'm tripping on bands like U2 and REM these days. I'm surprised I didnt find a mention of these in this board. Rock is genre that packs enough noise to potentially bring down establishments (whether it did bring them down is a different story). But bands like these (U2 & REM) showed that rock can be used as a platform to produce beautiful, melodious music, despite all the distortion and FX (effects). Not sure if you and others would appreciate my view.
