Since I created this board, it is but natural that I talk about my fav bands... Godsmack, Metallica being my favourites even though the present Metallica is incomplete. Other favs are B. Sabbath, Ugly Kid Joe, AC/DC, Audioslave... many others I can\'t remember.

How is it Hyd never seems to get it\'s share of rock concerts?? Except for the 2-3 appearances of Parikrama of which their first Hyd concert at TI was the most memorable (I was lucky enuff to be there) there have virtually been no big ROCK bands here in Hyd... No Deep Purple and now no Rolling Stones... What the hell is this??

Parikrama\'s show at this year\'s Vasavi fest sucked. It was so predictable - the same old numbers... I mean, these guys have been doin this same shit for the last 10 yrs... Gimme a break already!!!

Yeah Sleepo, it really sucks... But they are the only band that are playing MUSIC, not some crap. Agreed it\'s old and worn out. Consider them classics. I know we need more of newer bands like Stained or may be even Marilyn Manson (I love the death song), but hard metal or even death metal doesn\'t seem to come by so easy... Looks like Manson was singing the truth when he sang Rock Is Dead for the Matrix soundtrack. F**k!!!

heh heh... to be very honest, i\'m not a heavy metal / death kinda person... i\'m more of a grunge guy

... Creed and stuff like that... but am aquiring a taste for heavy metal/death metal and alternative shit... 
BTW, Coldplay ...that\'s a band that blows me awaaay... and Joe Sat is comin to Bangalore??

Hmmm ... Marilyn Manson ... Creed ...huh. If you have any time do check some Vedic Metal (yeah you read that right !!). Rudra, Nada Brahma, Kaliyuga, Army of Narisimha Dev etc etc are highly recommended. You are sure to find some wonderfully complex structures built in almost every song .. apart from the usual cookie-growl vocals. Great interludes, preludes, cycles using violin, tabla and assorted Indian classical instruments. Very refreshing...

There\'s a band called \'Indian Ocean\' with two songs featured in a cassette called Lounge Safari (Times Music)... Some very warm guitar beats played in there. They are GOOD too.

well... dude... you don\'t have \"judge\" people on the kinda music they listen to

i\'m pretty much into rock, but i don\'t get too heavy ...i don\'t stuff like pantera n all ...metallica gnr nirvana ...and of the new bands, nickel back creed green day ..stuff like that ..and guess what ..this may sound like blasphemy, but well, i listen to rap-rock as well ..that means bands like linkin park and limp bizkit ..hehe ..now there you go ..and hey ..i\'m pretty varied in my music tastes ..i also listen to a lota non rock stuff too! its a matter of personal choice buddy ...you dont get to judge people based on that? ..and whats the big deal with liking godsmak and the old metallica? ..GROW UP!

Hey fellas...sorry i wasn\'t in Hyd so I couldn\'t reply earlier. It looks like a war zone on this board now dudes! For those who want it to be cleared, by the old Metallica, I meant the one with Jason Newsted. Not Cliff. With Jason, the band was what it was meant to be. Serious mind bending lyrics and good thumping music. And Coldplay??? Coldplay\'s coldass lyrics infuriate me. I like to think what would happen if we handed iron piledrivers to Marilyn Manson, Hetfield and Ozzy and put them in a room with Britney, Timberlake and maybe even coldplay. hehehe. Man, it\'s good to be back in Hyd!

Hey Dude_in_town..it looks like you are more interested in Punk Rock. Try to get songs by a band called River City Rebels. Search for them on GnutellaLite. Try Blink 182 too if you haven\'t heard them. And who says rap rock sucks?? Rap rock is probably the most best recent addition to the world of music. It\'s a good and heady combination.

here\'s a more comprehensive list of bands (rock) i listen to ..and hey ...i\'m sorry but i\'m not a great fan of band-worshipping ...but i\'m very very keen on learning about the stuff they\'ve been thru ..so thanks for the metallica update ..by the way i do know something about this ex-guitar guy being fired and him starting his own band ..megadeth..which is quite good the last tiem i checked em out

Aerosmith, Bonjovi, Motley CRUE, Warrant, The RAtt, Blink 182, Sum 41, NIckelback, Limpbizkit, Linkin park, RAGE against the machine, Audioslave, korn, queen, metallica, guns n roses, foo fighters, nirvana, def leppard, u2, the offspring, sugar ray, smash mouth, oasis, garbage, godsmack, bryan adams, kid rock , marilyn manson, rob zombie, third eye blind, disturbed, puddle of mudd, 12 stones, RHCP, Evanescence, prodigy, skid row, static x, drowning pool, Tantric, 311 ..phew ..i think this is all i can think of for the moment.. 
lemme ask you guys a question ...how many of you listen to rock minus the rock kinda life ..i mean ..ya kno ..no dope ..no alcohol no fagg ..i dont do any of those ..except ofcourse ..loving/living rock music ..am i all alone here!? ..and one more thing ..i don\'t know why ..but i cant seem to like stuff like iron maiden/black sabbath/ozzy ..i dont know why! i\'ve tried listenin to em ..but i dont like em! hehehe ..neways ..back to you rockers!!! ?

Thor, Coldplay and Indian Ocean are very much \"ROCK\" unlike your Marilyn \"I-am-Satan\'s-Bitch\" Manson, May-ta-licka and Ozzy \"whining-to-glory\" Ozbourne. Marilyn Manson are industrial, dark wave, neo-gothic wannabe metal outfit, Ozzy/Black Sabbath are doom-laden heavy metal and Metallica are a crossover from Bay Area/Garage trash metal to melodic heavy metal to be very precise. You think you are too \"metal\" to listen to \"Coldplay\", huh... perhaps you haven\'t listened to the Russian band \"Abosranie Bogom\", who happen to be the most kvlt (which stands for the word \"cult\" for people who aren\'t \"metal\" enough to understand) band in the world, and in their Garage demos they have said \"pent vEE sOm thurrtz ikk nsweart ahooo\" which obviously explains all of this.

Hey pope... you seem angry for no reason dude! It isn\'t like what-i-like-is-the-best-shit. It\'s just opinions here. For that matter, like Coldplay, U2 isn\'t your run-of-the-mill band which crashes with fat rhythm guitars. But they still play good rock. Anyway Coldplay is good for who wanna hear it, I\'m more inclined towards metal. And no, I haven\'t heard that Russian band you mentioned. The only non-English band that I hear to is Rammstein. Dude_in_town... no, you are not the only dude_in_town who doesn\'t do drugs. Yeah, sure, I like the occasional beer or a virgin mary with friends, but I\'m not that heavy towards alcohol. But no drugs... no smoke... I did do some weed back in intermediate and enjoy an occasional smoke with my buddies something like once a month or two but I\'m not addicted to anything. Not alcohol, not cigarettes. I ain\'t interested either. Like you say, love, peace and rock and roll need a life to enjoy. And a little rioting and anarchy and mayhem... Hey guys, rock gives a good reason for me to live on this stupid planet. Thor u\'re cool man. Hope we guys can do something about rock music coming up in Hyderabad. There are very few bands in Hyd which play good rock music. Have you guys heard of SHANGRILA? It\'s a cool band and plays well, too. I compose music, in the sense that I don\'t know to play any instrument but if you give me a band I can compose great rock music with them. I really want to open up a good rock band which would show that even Hyd can produce good bands and music. Keep going guys, my support is always there!

Coldplay are a bunch of losers.....okie...good...so the only bands worth listening to are metallica? pantera? sepultura? good...bahh!!!!gimme a break...Coldplay was probably the only original band out there the whole of last year.....but thats me....i also like........sum41,System of a down,Linkin , and yeah Godsmack ..all of them losers right? .. metallica ruled...but what they did to their fans...sucked
