The Lord Of The Rings - The Two Towers is a must see...

The movie begins with Frodo dreaming of Gandalf and the Balrog (from the fellowship). The landscape of Mordor as seen from the distance is fantastic. The movie has essentially three threads:

1) The Riders of Rohan and the Battle of Hornburg:

\"Arise now, arise Riders of Theoden!
Dire deeds awake, dark it is eastward.
Let horse we bridled, horn be sounded!
Forth Eorlingas!\"

Aragorn, Legolas and Gimli meet the Riders of Rohan. Grima Wormtongue is brilliantly played, as is Thoeden. Helms deep is gorgeous to look at and so are the white mountains. The Battle lasts for atleast 30min and is the absolute high point of the film. The battle varies from the book. The Huorns are not mentioned here and the battle is essentially shown to be fought by men, the wood elves and Gimli the
dwarf. The final charge by Thoeden and Aragorn against the Orcs is fantastic. The wood elves look almost divine. Gandalf arrives on Sshadowfax with Eomer and the Rohirrim and saves the day. The battle seemed to me to end rather abruptly here. Also needless to say, the second battle of the fords of Isen is not mentioned and the first is barely mentioned when Theodred is shown to be dying.

2) The Seige of Isengard:

\"All that is gold does not glitter,
Not all those who wander are lost;
The old that is strong does not wither,
Deep roots are not reached by frost.\"

Treebeard the ent looks fantastic and the ents finally kick ass here destroying Isengard and imprisoning Saruman. All orc creatures, the Uruk hai and wolves look absolutely devastating.

3) Frodo, Sam and Gollum:

\"Yes, yes,\" said Gollum.
\"All dead, all rotten. Elves and Men and Orcs. The Dead Marshes.
There was a great battle long ago, yes, so they told him
when Sméagol was young,
when I was young before the Precious came. It was a great battle.
Tall men with long swords, and terrible Elves, and Orcses shrieking.
They fought on the plain for days and months at the Black Gates.
But the Marshes have grown since then, swallowed up the graves,
always creeping, creeping.\"

Frodo and Sam on their way to Mordor fall upon Gollum. Gollum is absolutely stunning to look at. CGI has reached it absolute zenith here. The voice of Gollum(played by Andy Sarkis) is rasping and incredible and his facial expressions are brilliant. Frodo, Sam and Gollum move towards Mordor and are captured by Faramir. There is a digression from the book here as Faramir takes them to Osiligath.

The movie does jump start in places and Gandalf still does look like Father Christmas but these are minor spoilers considering the eye candy this movie offers.

\"Three Rings for the Eleven-kings under the sky,
Seven for the Dwarf-lords in their halls of stone,
Nine for Mortal Men doomed to die,
One for the Dark Lord on his dark throne
In the Land of Mordor where the Shadows lie.
One Ring to rule them all, One Ring to find them,
One Ring to bring them all and in the darkness bind them
In the Land of Mordor where the Shadows lie.\"

He paused, and then said in a deep voice,
\"This is the Master-Ring, the One Ring to rule them all.
This is the One Ring lost many years ago,
To the great weakening of its maker\'s power.
Now, he greatly desires to have it again,
- but he must NOT get it...\"
I am the ism, my hate's a prism
Let's just kill everyone and let your God sort them out
