India, religion, cricket, Babri Masjid, maybe more...

India is a democratic country and every Indian citizen has a right to express his/her concern. i applaud this group of Indians for expressing their views, so blatanly by willing to put their lives on the line. On the same note, I plead with fellow Indians to not automatically brand them as religious activists who are bothered more about the Islamic brotherhood than they are of the nation. I agree that there are fascist elements in the Indian Muslim society who put their religion first, country else where. I also believe that India or Indians is/are negelecting Hindu fascism. India, I\'m afraid is losing it\'s identity, being lost among all the religious tuffles. Almost immediately, the Babri Masjid issue springs up. All logic and reasoning aside, why dont we Indians decide that no religion/group of individuals is/are above the ideals of India and just plant an Indian flag there and stop all this insanity of who came first and built what. I\'m surprised that this issue has never been discussed. It\'s pathetic and sad that no one really considers the nationalistic perspective beyond the religious ones. I dont care if I\'m a Hindu, I\'m an Indian and that to me is more important. In a semi-related issue all Indians, Muslims or otherwise have a right to choose which cricket team they want to support. It\'s absolute nonsense that the Indian cricket supporters get adamant over a community because of the cricket team they chose to support. I\'m not pro any religion. I\'m pro India.
:)

The group I\'m referring to in the first part of my conversation is the group of Indians going to Iraq to act as human shields.

Yep, and they are choosing to go because they are muslims! And that Iraq is a muslim country, Vikas!! I suppose the cat closes its eyes and drinks milk thinking that the entire world is \'not watching \' it! If you think so, it does not mean that they (some of the fanatic muslims or hindus or whichever religion they belong to - incidentally, I believe every religion has such groups of fanatics) believe so too! You still consider yourself an Indian, a Hindu, an Andhrite, a Hyderabadi or whatever... because that\'s the way \'we\', the human beings, behave, on instinct! We need that profiling!!

Hey, anybody can easily assess from your arguments that you are biased to seeing India as a Hindu community and not as a democratic country. As you said, India is losing its identity becoz the fascists (pointed to as the Indian Muslim society) bring their religion first and country elsewhere. If any fascist does this, then India alltogether loses its identity as a democratic country (if it has to)...but not as any leading religious nation. Remember, all muslims are not Islamis and all chaos-provoking fascists are not muslims... Have fun!

i definitely think every individual has his own choice of the team he supports.. it wasnt long back that i was so fed up with the indian teams performance that i thought i will support australia instead.. but when it comes to chosing between my home team and some other team.. well.. no doubt india will be my choice.. but guess thats again each persons own decision to make. and if u been reading the papers there was a case in a minority hostel where some \"seniors\" beat their \"juniors\" just bcos they were supporting india. now its ppl like these seniors who give the community a bad name.. but on the flip side, if u think hard, zaheer khan was a major driving force in the game against the pakis.. so was kaif. i am very proud of their commitment to our team. why then do some ppl tend to stereotype a whole community based on a few nutcases. as has been said by someone earlier.. every community has a few of those nutcases anyways.. :)

My boy, that\'s why I said all muslims are not Islamis and all chaos provoking fascists are not muslims... If you have watched a recently released movie \"Khadgam\" - I was impressed by the role of \"Prakash Raj\" as a patriotic Indian muslim.

funny, u want the country to forget abt building mandir/masjid… but u want to thrash the issue out here (again)…:) well... to forget abt building mandir/masjid is a good idea.. \"na rahega baas, na bajegi baasuri\".. but its like sweeping the issue under the carpet. now that things are underway... some conclusive report is expected. i think its best that we wait for the report and the court decision b4 trying to force our opinions here. of course, the maturity of our country lies in accepting the court decision.

Discussing on such issues is a sure waste...Democracy...Country\'s Development...Brotherhood between religions...Respecting other religions all looks attractive in books and patriotic speeches which has lost its glory and charm. When it comes to practical you will find only hate, blood shed, evil and heinous crimes in the name of religion. These religious bigotics are above then the indian law and constituency...No one is dare to challenge them (neither court nor the people in power)...Gujraat massacre and many are the best examples. India is completely effected with religious virous asking for innocent blood and unpeace the nation. Surprisingly a handful of Bulldogs(Religious - Political - Criminal Tycoons ) are sucking the blood of the country and innocent people and shattering the peace of the nation by misguiding the them in the name of religion and encouraging them to go for Violence. Educated and peace loving people (appx. 95%) are under the slavery of these 5% Bulldogs. And this is the fact. So wishing for a progressive and peaceful country in future is like a dream which never comes true. We have Law but only in books..We have Police but to punish innocent and victims...We have government departments but only for curruption and never ending projects...We have religious leaders(newly born) but to misguide superstitious and innocent people and encourage them for voilence. Every single person(All indians) is effected with this virous no one can stop spreading it , BECAUSE WE DONT WANT IT.
