Currently reading \"By the River Piedra I sat down and wept\" ~ Paulo Coelho >>...less complex, clear...rather impractical at points...and yea, too much of Christian theology ... anybody heard of a person named Tama Janowitz ?? If yes ... good... and if you have any books by that person, well lucky for you ...you just became my best friend.

Aha... VM!! Tama has a great understanding of life in lower Manhattan, and is good at giving it a comic spin, and she captures the nutty/arty vibe as well as anything + I laugh far too much reading her stuff. Heh. I love anyone who can make me laugh. Laughing is the best form of healing I think. Absolutely. She is one of those rare breed people. Classic NYC stuff. Gotta love it. \"Cannibals in Manhattan\" is really funny too. And her \"Male Cross Dressers Support Group\" kicks. I am particularly interested in \"Slaves of New York\" and \"By the shores of Gitchee Gumee\" (out of print). Firstandsecond sux BIG time... and its damn expensive... I ordered \"Lord of Chaos\" from them... and those a******s took 2 months to deliver it plus it cost me almost 1200 bucks!!! I am a poor guy...

At last I see the name Wodehouse! I thot for some time he\'d been forgotten. Admit it guys... when it comes to the crunch, it is suave Jeeves, inimitable Uncle Fred and the clueless Bertie Wooster who rule! And to think ONE man came up with all of them. Hail Wodehouse, the god of the funny bone!

if you\'re really looking for laffs, then Michael Ondaatje\'s (the guy who wrote English Patient)\'\'Running in the Family\'\' is brilliant. It\'s really nicely written- it\'s set in Sri lanka and has a whole mad house of characters. Bapsi Sidhwa\'s \'\'Crow Eaters\'\' is another super read. But if you do want a real work out for imagination then try getting your paws on Biyi Bandele\'s \"the Street\". gets you giggling all the way till kingdom come.
