I totally disagree. Compared with northern towns, the twin cities are heaven. I take my Honda Activa and reach Sec\'bad railway station (10km away) within 20 minutes, that too taking my wife on the pillion.

Hey I can\'t help agree...Believe it or not, I recite the Gayatri mantra while riding my bike. Ppl don\'t have any traffic sense and nobody cares a damn while they ride/drive. Thats what makes Hyd, Hyd. Unfortunately.
Whether you think you can, or you think you can't, you are right.

I totally agree with the other friends here Gopalakrishnan. u have been VERY LUCKY all these days. The big pits which are dug on the roads are not closed for days, have u not noticed them???. Here, I would like to point out that u may not be travelling on the roads which are usually taken by the common man (this may sound rude though). over and above, the traffic rules are not followed totally. overall they are the death traps either u agree or disagree. u still hafta TASTE the traffic here and also travel thru the major roads.

The roads of Hyderabad are death traps

Ok, i will try to give my honest opinion here..
I am a delhite and hv been staying and driving in hyd fr over 2 yrs now.
Actually when in delhi i always used to crib and curse about the road sense people hv there.
But when i came here ,i found delhi to be very organised.
The road sense here is ..to use one word..Pathetic.
Here are a few observations :-
1. Driving at night is a pain in the ...Eyes.There is no concept of using Dipper.Even on the roads which are well-lit by the street-lites people come zoomin on to u with full beams. All u can do is pray to God that the other guy is a gud driver..coz ur blinded fr some seconds wch is a small time but mite prove very dangerous.
2. Lane changing - wat the $#@@! is that??people wud ask.
zig zagging is the fav pastime here.I have witnessed so many accidents that now i am immune to them.Hardly anyone uses indicators..i guess they think that the indicators are there just to make ur bike/car look gud.
3. Horn - well its one thing everyone here likes to play with.I mean ur waiting at the signal to turn and the dude behind starts honking.
Do u guys know wat is the smallest unit of time in hyderabad?? NO sir its not 1 second..it is the time elpased between the Signal turned Green and the dude behind u starts honking away to glory.
4. Well..well why only the drivers..the pedastrians here are one step ahead. You are riding at 60kmph and suddenly u witness this couple take a step down on the road .U honk, they look at u as if u don\'t exist.U honk again(this time longer duration),they just raise there hand signalling u to stop(remember Matrix last scene..Reeves tells the bullets to stop..and they do) alas we can\'t do that...atleast not so fast. And then if u bang into them, its the driver who has to face the wrath of the local crowd there.

These were few of the huge list of traffic hazards in hyderabad.Frankly i really like this city but something has to be done about the road sense, otherwise u wud never be sure of when(or if) ur r goin to return home in one piece.

After driving in New York, LA and Hong Kong, I feel that Hyd roads and traffic are like Nintendo - a constant fight to move forward!!!

I think Hyderabad roads are generally ok except for a few potholes. Secondly, the traffic sense is not that bad as u people crib.
