Hey shaad-aabad, i loved ur collection of facts, it was a good job, well done.Except for one.. I needed clarification on \'India never conquered\'.. but all the kings from various parts of the now India/Pakistan/Bangladesh and even Afghanistan had wars against each other and conquered from times im-memorial, right?

Durga, India has never invaded any country in the last 1000 years, it says. I visited sites like itihas.com and historyofindia.com to try and explore this bit of information and found nothing to oppose it. If anyone has any piece of information to share about the same, they can post it.

N E W S F L A S H!!
Praveen Chaudhari, the well-known IBM scientist who has advised two American presidents (Ronald Reagan and the senior Bush) and two Indian Prime Ministers (and Rajiv Gandhi and Narasimha Rao), will become Director of BNL from April 1. He replaces John Marburger III, who left in 2001 to become President Bush\'s science adviser.
Chaudhari is the second Indian to head a great American institution. Fellow IITian Arun Netravali was appointed to head Bell Labs in 2000.

If you are a true indian then you must be proud to be an indian and its achievements., since every country has good and bad people and events. The evaluation shud go like this...to acheive a good position or rank it takes years or decades of hard work and lot of sacrifises to make india to be proud...but on the other hand it takes on few minutes to degrade india in front of the world. And in both the cases contribution of individuals are involved. So a single person represents the whole country on foreign platforms. Coming to the internal matters ofcourse every nation has its own internal matters more or less. But for these pity matters we stop loving and praising our country. The solution of such problems lies in the hands of own countrymen. The need of the hour is to understand the problem solve it tactically and think and work about the progress of the country like President Abdul Kalaam. If you sticked yourself in problems like muslim ,hindu , christian etc...dowry , rapes , male , female , dirty politics, scams , curruption..etc etc. then any country will never grow up..We have to remove all these obstacles from the progressive path of india by common and sensible understanding, by initiating tactical and concrete steps. But the bottom line is we shud be proud to be an indian , few bitter events and people can not change the status of India or any other country.

Kya baat hain Shahed bhai!!
After seeing these kind of messages in this thread, I feel I am on the way to achieve what I wanted do by posting this topic---to inspire a sense of unity and togetherness amongst us Indians. Where ever we might be and what ever religion we may belong to, there is a common thread that binds us together---that of Indianness, a feeling of pride and commitment for India, our India...
