Hindi has given to English many clothing terms ("bangle", "sari"), food words ("samosa", "basmati") and words to do with crime ("loot", "thug"). There are many other words. ...

eg: bandanna / "dyed cloth", Blighty / "vilayati" / Foreigner, juggernaut / "Juganath" / UK word for a large lorry ...

lisa's brain is so full of words and pictures that she has to find new and interesting ways to pass them around ...

she's explored the possibilities of ... lately the weird wordy world of the internet.

... she spent the last few years on the coast in nsw making things for radio, editing theprogram.net.au, writing and making things from clay and sound. she rolled her little red wagon back to melbourne in the winter of 2005 and is now knee-deep in the coordination of the new national poetry slam series the word wrestling federation, and many other delightful things.

... lisa ... is sailing quite happily in melbourne's ocean of art.
